What happens when people connect beyond spoken words? Powerful things. Following the International Day of Sign Languages, and as we look ahead to World Deaf Day, we're marking initiatives that help make communication more accessible for everyone. Recently, our colleagues in Hong Kong kicked off Project Resonance with its first Sign Language & AI Experience Workshop, created in partnership with the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong. This long-term initiative brings hearing youth and deaf participants together to learn, create and connect through sign language, technology and shared storytelling. During the first workshop, volunteers, young people and deaf community members explored AI tools, exchanged ideas and communicated across languages. First-time signers gained confidence through deaf role models, AI became a tool for creativity and self-expression, and meaningful connections were built across different ways of communicating. Projects like this show how innovation and empathy together can spark real change. Thank you to everyone who joined, learned and contributed. After judging the OpenAI x Handshake Codex Creator Challenge, Anthony, who manages our Technology Summer Internship Program and Graduate Talent Program in the US, came away inspired by the energy and fresh thinking on display. He saw projects that used AI and emerging technologies to bring new ideas and solutions to real-world problems. What impressed him most wasn't just the technology, but the innovative thinking and willingness to challenge existing processes. Through his work supporting our junior talent, Anthony sees firsthand our interns and graduates can drive innovation across the financial services industry. A big welcome to our 2026 UK apprentices 👋.
