Pia Coyle shared thisThis is what living your calling looks like. On stage, in my official day job capacity, but showcasing my spiritual side hustle. Career conversations (driven by my 24 years of media and marketing leadership experience) with a side of woo woo (tarot reading, my absolute passion, with 7 years of using these incredible tools to crack open more connections than I could have ever imagined). Thank you Sophie Gallagher for being vulnerable and brave enough to have your cards read live on stage. You inspired 1500 people to be open to the cards. Enjoy your wedding 💒 🥂 Thank you Chloe Hooper who is such a cheer leader as I build this tarot and leadership dream. Thank you Laura Nice for letting me do my crazy thing on stage on behalf of PHD Australia. And Edelle Gettings, Priya Harmalkar, Jane McMillan and Stacy Smith for organising me and feeding me and helping me set up! Thank you Sophie Madden Linda Wong and the MFA crew for trusting me to bring a little magic to media! The enchantment of the cards was exactly what everyone needed yesterday. So excited to see Phatdeck tarot take its place in the industry I love so much. Follow me on instagram @phatdeck_tarot. You won’t regret it!

Pia Coyle shared thisToday I read tarot card career guidance in front of 700 people. I am also doing one on one readings in the breaks for over 50 people. Everyone has a question (or 3!) about where they’re going next, how they grow, what their toxic workplace traits are. Feeling grateful to be able to merge the skills and experience I have. The response has been mind blowing. I’d be able to continuously read cards for 24 hours and not get to everyone who wants a reading. The booking slots filled up within 30 seconds. https://lnkd.in/dbkTvnck I will have earned my wine tonight🤣. The corporate world and the woo woo world can and should live side by side. @phatdeck_tarot (instagram) PHD Australia #mfaex

Pia Coyle shared thisCareer conversations with a side of woo woo! I will be combining my extensive leadership and mentoring experience from my day job (more years than I care to admit running media teams, agencies and clients) and my intuition and Tarot card reading skills from my side hustle / passion project at MFA Ex Melbourne and Sydney. Use the QR code on the day to book in for a 5 min career coaching card conversation. Let the cards decide what your growth looks like. If you are not there on the day, you can follow me @phatdeck_tarot on instagram. Plenty of spiritual guidance and a little bit of magic everyday. Thank you PHD Australia and Media Federation of Australia for giving me the opportunity to blend my unique experience and spread a little tarot love into the corporate world. We all need some woo woo in our lives right now.Pia Coyle shared thisNeed a little career clarity? Let Pia Coyle’s cards decide. It’s been a tough 12 months in agencies – client pressure, work stress and, of course, the small matter of robots potentially taking our jobs. So perhaps what we all need right now is a little hope, a little perspective – and a little magic. At MFA EX Melbourne and Sydney, PHD Sydney Managing Director Pia Coyle is bringing together her two passions – tarot and media – for a one-of-a-kind career coaching experience. Pia will read the cards for selected MFA EX attendees, using tarot as a springboard for honest, one-on-one conversations about where you are, where you’re headed and what might inspire you to fall back in love with your job. This is career coaching with a twist – and an activation you’ll definitely be talking about long after MFA EX. Pia Coyle shared thisNAIDOC week is an important chance to reflect and engage in the amazing work being done by the NITV crew and to celebrate and recognise the contributions made to our lucky country by Indigenous Aussies in this generation and the many many generations before us. Always was, always will be. Excited to be a part of it.Pia Coyle shared thisWhat an incredible way to launch NAIDOC Week at SBS and NITV. This year marks 50 Years of Deadly celebrating over five decades of strength, resistance, culture, achievement and the generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have fought to have our voices heard and our stories told. It was a privilege to come together with colleagues, key partners and community to reflect on this milestone through powerful storytelling, honest conversation and shared learning. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible panel: 🖤 Rachel Perkins – one of Australia's most influential First Nations storytellers, sharing her vision for the future of Indigenous screen storytelling and her role as Director of First Nations Strategy at Screen Australia. 🖤Tanya Denning Orman – Director, First Nations at SBS, whose leadership continues to shape how First Nations stories are shaped across our network and beyond. 🖤Alexis Moran - Indigenous Standards Editor at SBS & NITV, who MC'd the event and leads First Nations editorial content guidance for the network. And to John Paul Janke, National Indigenous Affairs Editor and Host, The Point, for guiding such an insightful and meaningful conversation. We also paid tribute to our beloved inaugural Elder in Residence, Widjabul Wieybal woman Aunty Rhoda Roberts AO, whose extraordinary legacy continues to inspire generations of First Nations creatives and leaders. We acknowledge Aunty Rhoda and her ongoing legacy as well as her 2026 National NAIDOC Lifetime Achievement Award, a fitting recognition of a life dedicated to elevating our stories, culture and people. The event also offered a first look at Frame by Frame, hosted by Rachel Perkins, premiering on NITV from 9 July, alongside a preview of SBS and NITV's extensive NAIDOC Week programming celebrating 50 Years of Deadly. Thank you to staff, stakeholders, partners and guests that attended in person and online. NAIDOC Week reminds us that we honour those who came before us, whilst also creating pathways for the next generation of storytellers, leaders and changemakers. Still Deadly. Always. Pia Coyle shared thisI’ve really embraced being me wholeheartedly in the last few years. It’s mostly freeing and sometimes a bit scary. Grateful that in this industry a bit of woo woo goes a long way. When I mention I’m a tarot reader, people lean in. It’s such an interesting and connecting craft. And sits very comfortably along side my day job. And it 💯 enhances my leadership approach. I’ve never crossed these worlds over on LinkedIn. Until today 😅🔮 If you’re interested in seeing the other side of me, follow me on instagram @phatdeck_tarot. Or check out my website www.phatdecktarot.com (which, as a side note, I vibe coded all by myself using AI… pretty impressive for someone who can’t work out the printer 🤣). Looking forward to many interesting conversations after this post… whether it be about attentive reach or channeling spirit. Thanks AdNews Australia and the media federation for the opportunity to expose the other side of me to the whole industry.Pia Coyle shared thisPia Coyle: Ever wondered what it is like to be a witch in a corporate office? #advertising #media https://lnkd.in/g8dADqi3Changing Perspectives: It takes bravery to show up authentically in life and at work - AdNewsChanging Perspectives: It takes bravery to show up authentically in life and at work - AdNews

Pia Coyle shared thisExactly what Matthew Coote said. It is horrifying that kids as young as my littlest, Fletcher, get put in prison. We need to fight hard to change things. It's only small comfort that this year, I get to be on the Guards team, and will be dishing out the yelling, not experiencing what it is like to be a baby in a cold cell. This is a vicious cycle that is proven dysfunctional. We are lucky to be going home after dinner to a warm bed and a loving family. These kids are not so lucky. Donate here and be the change https://lnkd.in/gATEKNS5Pia Coyle shared thisHere are some scary figures; 10....the age of criminal responsibility in NSW and most Australian states 60%...of 10-13 year-olds in custody are First Nations children — despite representing just 8% of the NSW child population 85%...of children released from sentenced detention return within 12 months $1.3M+...the cost to incarcerate one child in custody for a single year $400M...the increase in youth detention spending in the last 5 years alone This vicious cycle needs to change. Let's be the ones to contribute to this. I'll be playing my part this Thursday as a guard at the UnLtd Adland Bailout event. The event raises funds for UnLtd's work to end the vicious cycle of youth incarceration, by advocating for better alternatives, prevention and stopping the imprisonment of children as young as 10. Pia Coyle shared thisAs many of you know, I am a passionate advocate for parents in media... how we show up in both our jobs and at home, how we 'have it all', and how we make the media world a friendlier place for everyone who is in the thick of the juggle. I’m looking forward to mentoring at The Village - Fill Your Cup on Wednesday, 29 April. If you’re a working parent in the media industry, this is a free morning focused on connection and honest conversation. We’ll start with a panel chat, then move into small mentoring groups based on parenting stage. 📍 oOh! Sydney ⏰ 9:30–11am There are still some last-minute spots still available — RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/gNcVfg88. The panel is a formidable group! PubMatic's Kasey Climpson, alongside Sue Squillace (CEO, Mediahub ANZ) and Krista Walton (NSW Sales Director, oOh!media). Bring on the candid conversations as we explore realities of working parenthood. Hope to see you there. #TheVillage #WorkingParents #Mentorship #MediaIndustry Lauren Thornborough Louise Wilson

Pia Coyle shared thisDo you ever feel like you're running around like a headless chook trying to manage a career and a family? Do you lie in bed exhausted, even when you've just slept all night? I certainly do....The juggle (and the struggle) is real, and we should talk about it more. As professionals, who pride ourselves on delivery (often at all costs!) we need to be carving out time to have this conversation. You can be an engaged and effective leader, and be a hot mess sometimes trying to pull it all together. Have a listen to my episode of It Takes a Village. Thanks for the chat Lauren Thornborough and Louise Wilson. Link to the episode in comments. More importantly if this strikes a chord, let's keep the conversation going, reach out for a chat!Pia Coyle shared this“Run your own race.” 🏃♀️ Episode 2 of 𝙄𝙩 𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙖 𝙑𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙚 is live, and this week Lauren and Louise sit down with Pia Coyle, Managing Director at PHD Australia, Sydney and mum of three in a blended family. With 23 years in media, Pia shares how parenthood reshaped her leadership style and why she believes in 𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘳𝘴 when it comes to balancing career and family. Pia brings honesty, perspective and plenty of wisdom to the conversation which gives a thoughtful reminder that leadership, like parenting, doesn’t come with a playbook. 🎙️ Listen to Episode 2 of 𝙄𝙩 𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙖 𝙑𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙚e wherever you get your podcasts, or linked in the comments. Because it takes a village to raise a parent. 💛

Pia Coyle liked thisPia Coyle liked thisWhat an incredible night! Thank you to the amazing MFA community and all our partners and sponsors for helping us celebrate the work and the people that make our industry great at last night’s 27th MFA Awards. In the words of Media Federation of Australia CEO Sophie Madden: “The work recognised this year demonstrates the strength and sophistication of Australia’s media industry. The finalists and winners brought together strategy, creativity, technology and partnership to solve complex business challenges, deliver outstanding results and push the craft of media forward. “What stands out is the ambition behind the work – teams challenging conventions, finding new ways to connect with audiences and using media to create impact. This is exactly what it means to be The Changers. Congratulations to every winner and finalist for continuing to raise the bar for what great media can achieve.” See all the winners here: https://lnkd.in/gNpTjkc9 Sophie Madden Rare Productions Australia Andrea Sophocleous Mitchell Douglas Linda Wong Melanie Aslanidis Shanice Kim Amy Godfrey Catherine Rushton Chris Colter Grant LeQuesne Caroline Hugall James Rawlings Nick Kavanagh Marine Turner David Bielenberg Raj Gupta Ryan Hancock #MFA #MFAex2026 #wearethechangers

Pia Coyle liked thisPia Coyle liked thisStruggling to put into words what this Industry Contribution recognition means from the Media Federation of Australia for Louise Wilson and I. When we started The Village we did it because we wanted better. Better for this industry that we both love working in and better for the wonderful people around us who were leaving the industry because it was all too hard to be a good parent and have a career in media. We are so proud of the community we have built but we know there is much work still to do and we are committed to continuing on this journey alongside our amazing board and incredible volunteers. Thank you to Linda Wong Melanie Aslanidis Sophie Madden for the surprise and for the ongoing support of The Village. Thank you to our volunteers Vera Fernandes Sara Herbert Amanda Margariti Emily Mead Taylor Svarc Kate Blakeley Michelle Kyd Akansha Sahu Zoe Kostos your continual commitment to helping us realise our ambition and mission never ceases to amaze me. And to every parent out there who has shared their story, provided us advice, showed up to an event- thank you. Together we can shape better work places for us all and ensure our incredible talent continues to have an impact on this industry for years to come.

Thanks AdNews Australia for sharing Luke Brown’s perspective on a topic the industry doesn’t discuss often enough: why so much modern media advice sounds smart, yet fails to deliver growth. We’ve never had more tools, more data or more dashboards. Yet penetration gains are stubborn and the link between media activity and commercial outcomes continues to weaken. The issue isn’t advertising. It’s how we’ve started interpreting effectiveness. Reach is treated as the outcome. Attention becomes the proxy. Reporting becomes the story. Luke’s piece explores how a handful of persistent myths are quietly distorting decision-making. If effectiveness is meant to mean growth, not just activity, it’s well worth the read. https://lnkd.in/gSwAsvvt
