As a free user, I got a seven-day free trial that blocked unlimited ads on every website I visited. Once the trial ended, the free version showed Total Adblock pop-ups at the bottom of websites. These pop-ups sometimes showed up well before the seven days were over.
Total Adblock doesn't warn you about these pop-ups up front. It's ironic. You install an ad blocker to get rid of pop-ups, and it adds its own.

Plus, Total Adblock let me skip cookie consent banners with a simple toggle. With the cookie consent cutter enabled, I didn't have to accept cookies because Total Adblock automatically rejected unwanted cookies and accepted only the cookies sites need to work.
Total Adblock blocks trackers and hidden scripts that websites set up to keep tabs on you, including trackers on social media. Sites mostly use these trackers for ads and analytics, so blocking them limits how much sites can track you.
YouTube is determined to stop ad blockers on its site. Every few months, we see people complain that YouTube has started another crackdown, so we retest our ad blockers regularly.

Because an ad blocker sits between you and every site you visit, it's worth knowing what it does with your own data. Total Security Limited (part of Point Wild, formerly Pango) runs Total Adblock.
Per its privacy policy, it collects the account details you'd expect — name, email, phone number, and payment info — plus data gathered automatically, like your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit, using cookies and similar technologies.
One catch: Total Adblock uses some of this data for its own advertising and marketing, and shares hashed identifiers (like a scrambled version of your email) with partners like Meta to match audiences and measure campaigns. Its policy states it doesn't "sell" your personal information as defined by U.S. state laws, but it does share data for targeted advertising.
You can opt out of that sharing, request a copy of your data, or ask for deletion through Total Adblock's Data Privacy Hub. It also says it doesn't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Total Adblock is available on the most popular browsers, like Google Chrome and Safari. It has a dedicated app for iOS. On Android, the full app downloads straight from Total Adblock's site, not the Google Play Store.
The Play Store version only works inside the Samsung Internet browser. If you'd rather not install apps from outside the Play Store, keep that in mind when you pick an ad blocker for Android.
Note that Total Adblock is no longer available for Firefox.

First, I had to log in to my Total Security account. Then, I navigated to the Help & Support Center. At first, I only saw support guides. I clicked through a couple before I found the ticket and chat options at the bottom of one.

Total Adblock has largely positive reviews on the App Store and on Trustpilot. 73% of users gave Total Adblock a five-star rating on Trustpilot. Positive reviewers mention how well it works, how easy it is to use, and the included TotalAV antivirus.
Reviewers are much less happy with Total Adblock on the Google Play Store. The Google Play version only works with the Samsung Internet browser, so its reviews don't cover the full Android app you download from Total Adblock's site.
Negative reviews mention receiving more ads and spam after downloading Total Adblock on Android. Several reviewers also had trouble canceling their accounts and contacting customer support.
Total Adblock is essentially set-it-and-forget-it software. I installed the extension on Google Chrome, and it started blocking ads immediately.
Setup is quick. Right after I added the extension, it asked me which kinds of content annoy me most. It used my answers to set my blocking preferences.
After that, it runs on its own. Open the extension on any page to see how many ads and trackers it blocked. I didn't run into any broken pages, and I didn't see ads with the blocker on.

In 2025, Google finished rolling out Manifest V3, a change to how Chrome extensions work that limited how much control ad blockers have over what loads on a page. The real-world fallout: with Chrome 138 in July 2025, Google disabled Manifest V2 extensions across the browser, which is why the classic version of uBlock Origin no longer runs on Chrome.
Total Adblock held up in our testing. In our most recent round on Chrome, it still scored a perfect 100/100 on AdBlock Tester and passed all three Can You Block It tests — the same results we recorded before the transition.
