Antonio Álvarez heeft dit gedeeldI am joining Microsoft as EMEA Director, Strategic Technical Lead. The remit: the deals where the technical conversation decides the outcome. Twelve years in enterprise AI and cloud have convinced me the hard part is almost never the technology. It's getting a room to agree on what problem they're actually solving. Everything else follows from that. New music, same dancer — and happy to learn new steps. What convinced me wasn't the org chart, it was the conversations. People who clearly care about the work, about the field, and about each other. That is rarer than it should be, and it's the environment I do my best work in. The focus is the people who sit in front of customers — making them sharper, more confident, better equipped for the conversations that actually decide deals. Coaching is the part of this job I would happily do for free, so I'm starting where I should: listening first, opinions second. Thank you to Mark Chaban , Julien Bertin. and Christian Sciullo for the trust. And to Selma Şahin who has been a great partner in the beginning! Thanks to Christian Sciullo , Matt McNeill , Domagoj Kovac , Mohamed Mikou , calin turcanu for the opportunities. That kind of trust doesn't come with a job title, and I do NOT forget it. One thing I'm proud of the playbooks and initiatives that took just products from a hard sell into a repeatable motion that drove revenue and impact!., and the roadshows across EMEA were the real highlight though with Alessio Bagnaresi , Davide Gallo, EMBA , Luca Martelli , Harjeet Kumar — watching customers go from skeptical to sold in one room. Hard to top that kind of direct impact. I'm also proud of leading the first Digital Native plays for sellers — built to actually meet DN customers where they are, and to have an old time colleague and mentor Darren Mowry, supporting the kick off and these years! To my team, specially to my great collaborator Irene Ventayol who has been always and tirelessly creating a great friendship, partnership, support and inspiration, to Sylvie Carreras for all the friendship, high energy and support, and to Kobi Dwek for the great work done. Danfoss automated 80% of order decisions with AI agents and cut response time from 42 hours to near real-time. Suzano cut query time by 95% for 50,000 employees. These are production deployments, not pilots. The pattern I see repeatedly is organisations buying AI tools while hoping the human side figures itself out. Training happens once. Then the pilot stalls in Q2 because nobody built the capability to actually hand a workflow to an agent. Google calls this the defining shift of 2026: from buying AI to building an AI-ready workforce. Most enterprises have not started that conversation.
