DESCRIPTION

We'll be performing routine overnight software upgrades on our pool of LNSs and BGP routers, starting Thursday 9th October. One LNS will be done per night, and this involves moving lines between the LNSs and upgrading when lines have been moved off. Customers may see a PPP drop and reconnect in the early hours of the morning as this work is carried out.

Upgrades to our BGP routers will also happen overnight but should have little to no impact. Resolution: This work has been completed.

We're carrying out a test of failover for our customer facing recursive DNS. There is no disruption expected, although of course because this is such a critical service we are creating an at risk PEW window. Should the test fail, it'll be immediately put back and any outage would only be expected to be a few seconds.

During the early hours of Tuesday 19th July TalkTalk are upgrading one of their core routers which will cause some ADSL and VDSL circuits to drop and reconnect. This will happen sometime between 1AM and 6AM. We expect to see at drop and reconnect at around 1AM, and then again at around 4AM.

We are in the process of upgrading both the speed cap and monthly usage of our Domestic and Business L2TP services. The price remains the same.

  • Domestic, Was: 400Mb/s and 5TB Usage. Will be: 500Mb/s and 8TB Usage
  • Business, Was: 600Mb/s and 10TB Usage. Will be: 1Gb/s and 20TB Usage
  • Business Light: stays the same

(The actual throughput may be limited by your L2TP client and your underlying Internet connection)

The speed change is live now, and the usage change will be live from 1st August 2025. Details of the service can be found On our main website.

The work will take place in the early hours of the morning (between 3 and 4:30AM) starting Thursday 26th June with similar work happening on Monday 30th and Tuesday 1st July.
