Summary

Adds the application-facing storage and resource adapters: configuration, prompt and input handling, compaction support, secrets, environment/workspace access, SDK conversion, and PostgreSQL/SQLite persistence for sessions, projections, executions, checkpoints, inboxes, artifacts, content, and workspaces.

Design

The storage layer preserves the event/projection split established by agentcore. PostgreSQL uses generated query bindings and explicit tables for ledger commits, session metadata, projections, frozen content, execution records, inbox commands, workspace state, and artifacts. SQLite supplies the local equivalent with transactionally updated bindings, checkpoints, executions, inbox, ledger, redispatch, and workspace tables. Both adapters expose the higher-level ports rather than leaking SQL rows into application code.

Session persistence handles inherited history and projection snapshots; content and artifact adapters keep large or immutable values addressable by digest. Execution persistence is keyed by the effect identity so retries and worker restarts remain idempotent. Inbox and redispatch records retain their own sequence/epoch invariants instead of being folded into Run state. Workspace adapters cover local directories and HTTP-backed resources, with conformance helpers shared by implementations.

The agent-side packages add canonical configuration and prompt representations, context compaction, environment resolution, secrets access, and SDK-to-model conversion. Conversion clones mutable SDK structures and normalizes tool definitions so provider-specific types do not cross the runtime boundary. Provider changes update the affected speech and completion integrations to match those adapter contracts.

Testing

Coverage includes config, compaction, local environment, prompt, secrets, SDK mirror/conversion, workspace, SQLite, PostgreSQL reopen/retention, and adapter benchmark/support tests. The branch also adds the SQL schema, migrations, queries, generated bindings, and module dependencies required by those adapters.

Removed from the Agent Core stack: this adapter/storage layer belongs in a separate downstream agent stack.
