Summary

  • Plugin entry points in pyproject.toml for parsers
  • Strict CI: mypy, black, isort now blocking (no || true)
  • 752 tests passing

Changes

  • Added for apt, pacman, dnf, brew, pip, npm, cargo, snap, flatpak
  • CI lint job: removed from mypy/black/isort
  • mypy ignores legacy files via
  • Formatted all files with black + isort

Walkthrough

The pull request applies broad formatting and import-order changes across the package and tests. It adds parser entry points and type-checking configuration, makes CI lint checks blocking, and changes several exception clauses and parser behaviors.

Changes

Package and tooling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Tooling and package wiring
.github/workflows/ci.yml, pyproject.toml, package_maximizer/__init__.py, package_maximizer/*/__init__.py
CI lint checks now fail on errors. Parser entry points, mypy settings, isort settings, and a new fallback version are configured. Package imports and exports are reformatted.
Analyzer, CLI, and core modules
package_maximizer/analyzers/*, package_maximizer/cli/*, package_maximizer/core/*, package_maximizer/di/*, package_maximizer/integrations/*
Existing logic is reformatted. Analyzer comparison output now initializes common_packages as an empty list.
Parser implementations
package_maximizer/parsers/*
Parser code is reformatted. Brew parsing excludes indented headers, and DNF status handling uses an explicit elif.
Solvers and application services
package_maximizer/solvers/*, package_maximizer/tui/*, package_maximizer/utils/*, package_maximizer/web/*, package_maximizer/adapters/*
Solver, utility, web, TUI, and adapter code is reformatted. Local solver types and web response annotations are updated. Several exception clauses use comma syntax that is invalid in Python 3.
Test suite formatting
tests/*
Test imports, literals, calls, whitespace, and assertion layout are reformatted without changing test logic.

Estimated code review effort: 4 (Complex) | ~45 minutes

Merge Risk: 🟠 High · up to 58755

This change adds parser entry points and stricter CI, but syntax errors in core runtime modules can prevent the web API, adapters, and solver package from loading. It should not merge until those import failures and the remaining open behavior and workflow-permission concerns are resolved.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Initialize common for empty solver results.

When results is empty, solver_sets is false, so common is never assigned. Line 255 then raises UnboundLocalError; the new common_packages=[] default is never returned. Initialize common before the conditional and add coverage for compare_solvers({}).

Proposed fix
         # Общие пакеты
+        common = set()
         if solver_sets:
             common = set.intersection(*solver_sets.values())
             comparison["common_packages"] = sorted(list(common))

In `@package_maximizer/analyzers/result_analyzer.py` at line 255, Initialize
common to an empty collection before the solver_sets conditional in
compare_solvers, so empty results safely produce common_packages=[] and avoid
UnboundLocalError when assigning statistics["common_count"]. Add coverage for
compare_solvers({}).

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Preserve indentation before checking for a Brew header.

line.strip() removes leading spaces at Line 120. Therefore, not line.startswith(" ") at Line 123 is always true. An indented line such as " Dependencies:" can still be parsed as a new package header. Keep the raw line for the indentation check and add a regression test.

Proposed fix
-            line = line.strip()
+            raw_line = line
+            line = raw_line.strip()

-            if line.endswith(":") and not line.startswith(" "):
+            if line.endswith(":") and not raw_line[:1].isspace():

‼️ IMPORTANT
Carefully review the code before committing. Ensure that it accurately replaces the highlighted code, contains no missing lines, and has no issues with indentation. Thoroughly test & benchmark the code to ensure it meets the requirements.

In `@package_maximizer/parsers/brew_parser.py` around lines 120 - 123, Update the
Brew header parsing logic in the relevant parser function to retain the raw line
for indentation checks before stripping content, so indented headers such as
“Dependencies:” are not treated as package names; add a regression test covering
an indented colon-terminated line.

Security Misconfiguration (CWE-732): Incorrect Permission Assignment for Critical Resource

Reachability: External

Set explicit least-privilege permissions for the lint job.

The workflow runs on push and pull_request. The lint job checks out the repository and installs development dependencies before running the tools. If repository defaults grant write access, a dependency or plugin can use the persisted GITHUB_TOKEN to modify repository state.

Set permissions: contents: read at the lint job level. Set persist-credentials: false on checkout unless a later step requires Git credentials.
