Summary

  • brew install --cask dominion525/tap/blip-cursor, down from dominion525/tap/dominion525-blip
  • Homebrew asks for a cask name unique across all casks, not for a username prefix; the prefix was one way to reach uniqueness rather than a requirement. blip itself is taken by an unrelated cask, so the name still needs a qualifier, and blip-cursor says what the app does
  • Point the release workflow at the renamed file and the READMEs at the shorter command

The tap carries the rename already, with a cask_renames.json that moves anyone installed under the old name across. That migration runs during brew update and was verified on a real install: Migrating cask dominion525-blip to blip-cursor, after which brew info reports the cask at its new Caskroom path.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

- The dominion525- prefix reached a unique name but was longer than it needed to be. Homebrew asks for a name unique across all casks, not for a username prefix, and blip-cursor is free
- Point the release workflow at the renamed file, and the READMEs at the shorter install command
