Hi, I'm Ali Özgür, an engineering leader who still writes code. I've been building software for more than 20 years, and leading the teams that build it for most of them.
I studied Computer Engineering at Istanbul Technical University and hold an MBA from Istanbul Bilgi University.
- Build engineering organizations. I structure autonomous product teams and set up the systems that keep them healthy: career and performance frameworks, one-on-ones, OKRs, and SDLC/STLC processes.
- Ship products. Most recently I led Industry 4.0 work: IIoT platforms, data collectors, energy and water monitoring, anomaly detection and MES. Before that I spent 17 years on student information systems and enterprise integrations at Istanbul Bilgi University.
- Set up the delivery toolchain. GitLab, Jira, TeamCity CI/CD, Metabase reporting and BPM-driven business processes.
- Coach. I mentor team leads and engineering managers on leadership, technical depth and decision-making.
