Summary

  • refresh every existing repository domain during startup
  • adopt fetched tips through the existing field-level replay implementation
  • reconcile already-fetched tracking refs even when Fetch reports no movement
  • preserve local unpushed commits and their attribution
  • restore the original local head if replay cannot complete
  • continue from an intact local snapshot only for bounded network outages

New clones do not perform a second mandatory fetch, and opening a repository never pushes local work.

Testing

  • immediate standalone first-read refresh
  • local-only and divergent local/remote histories
  • already-fetched tracking-tip adoption
  • secondary-domain refresh
  • recoverable versus fatal startup error classification
  • full local CI-equivalent suite with the race detector

Fixes #233

Refresh every existing clone during startup and adopt the fetched tip with the existing field-level replay, including when a previous fetch already moved only the tracking ref. Preserve local unpushed work and restore the original branch if replay cannot complete.

Keep new clones to one fetch, continue from intact local data only for bounded network outages with a warning, and reject authentication, history, schema, or storage failures.

Fixes aenix-io#233
