Summary

Pin only the oldest-Python installer compatibility matrix entry to Ubuntu 22.04. The current ubuntu-latest is 26.04, and actions/setup-python fails before tests start: The version '3.8' with architecture 'x64' was not found for Ubuntu 26.04.

All existing test commands and matrix Python versions remain unchanged; Ubuntu latest continues to cover Python 3.12. No test skipped, no security control disabled.

Verification

Exact failing job: https://github.com/adeelahmad/lense/actions/runs/41991200459/job/127123603162
CI on this branch must confirm Python setup and the existing installer tests. This environment cannot run a GitHub-hosted OS matrix locally.

Done questions

Goal pending green CI/merge. API/UI/config/data upgrades/cost/licensing changes: n/a, CI-only runner selection. Existing tests retained, no runtime defaults changed. Reported to release coordinator; no new dependency.
