This PR includes a set of updates motivated by a new National Forests dashboard:

  1. Updates the config to support the new NationalForests dashboard with different data sources.
  2. Allows for visitation data and pages to be password-protected on a project-by-project basis. Basically, the config in app_config.py and config.js now regulate this. So, right now, the only project that requires this is the updated "NationalForests" dashboard.
  3. Re-labels a few things:
  4. Adds Cuebiq data to the dashboard as a new data source.
  5. Speeds up the cache (re)loading. See db0aaf8. Previously, there were multiple competing requests to rebuild the cached datasets. I added a thread lock to ensure that it only does this once. This shouldn't impact the deployed dashboard (once the cache is loaded), but this sped up development significantly by allowing me to re-start the app and test without waiting 7+ minutes to reload the cache.
  6. Added commas to the y-axis for the time-series and bar charts. Especially for the big visistion numbers for Forests, these were pretty hard to read before.
  7. Added the ORD logo as the thumbnail / "favicon" in a tab (instead of the default Vue icon).
    8. Added two basic bash scripts that make it even easier to run the development server and instructions in the wiki.

@jblehr these are the only issues that jumped out at me

  • Removing the "weekly" time series view option (see comment here)
  • Comparing units doesn't work for me #286

I appreciate the updates for consistency RE "modeled" and adding our logo

I don't have a quick fix, so I made an issue: #299

Comparing units doesn't work for me #286

Yes - I'm going to leave this issue open for now. I removed the text that describes how to use the "compare" feature.

I'm going to go ahead with merging this in, and will open a new branch with the docker setup/instructions originally described in https://github.com/OutdoorRD/trails-viz-data/pull/92#issuecomment-5414975077.
