With around 10,000 students, the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology is one of the largest faculties at FAU. It is unique in Germany in terms of its diversity of subjects: its research and teaching areas cover the humanities, cultural studies, social sciences and behavioural sciences as well as religion-related disciplines.

International exchange on human rights: One week, many perspectives
What do human rights mean in different social and cultural contexts? And what are the different scientific perspectives on the current challenges? These were the questions considered by 24 Bachelor’s students from five central and eastern European countries in the summer school “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Human Rights” held at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU).What do human rights mean in different social and cultural contexts? And what are the different scientific perspectives on the current challenges? FAU’s Roman Boat F.A.N. – Where it all began
Ten years ago, construction work began on Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU)’s first Roman boat. It was built to mark the occasion of the University’s 275th anniversary.
