Go from the first and few to the many
- Many of us want to do better to advance women of color at our organizations, but we don't know where to start. Do any of these statements resonate? I don't feel seen or heard at my company. My workplace is toxic and most of us are thinking of leaving. We have no women of color in leadership. Why not? And why are we afraid to talk about it? I don't want to be called racist, so I don't say anything when it comes to the women of color on my team. I hear these messages over and over. Hi, I'm Deepa. I was a senior partner at a big four consultancy and a first myself, so I've had to navigate my own path. I left to write my book, "The First, The Few, The Only," and focus on research about women of color. Together we'll explore what we can all do to make the workplace work for women of color.
