Revenue matters, but if margins weaken, fixed costs rise, and flexibility disappears, bigger doesn’t necessarily mean better. I call this "The Valuation Fallacy". Excellent summary of last year’s hotel sector trends. Basically the luxury hotels did better as guests were willing to spend more on experiences and the TREVPAR in budget or economy hotels ( total revenue per room, such as drinks, snacks, laundry ) was down for 2025. Q4 saw more belts tightening than Q3 and overall numbers were softer in 25 than 24. However the report expects upticks across the board this year and beyond with the FIFA World Cup attracting new travelers and more business travel .
