Martin Camacho reposted thisMartin Camacho reposted thisPrized (YC S26) gives developers an always-on cloud devbox that still feels local. Coding agents can work for hours now, but only while your laptop stays open. A raw VM keeps them running, but replaces your local workflow with remote files, port forwarding, and fragile terminal sessions. With one command, Prized moves your project to a dedicated cloud machine, files sync to a real folder on your Mac, services appear on localhost, and terminal sessions persist when you disconnect. Start your favorite coding agent, close your laptop, and let it keep working. Learn more at prized.dev or reach out at founders@prized.dev. Congrats on the launch, Marinos Eliades and Hudson Griffith! 🚀 https://lnkd.in/g-PiZkkq

Martin Camacho reposted thisMartin Camacho reposted thisWe’re beyond excited to officially introduce Intelligence. We raised a $7.9M seed, led by Index Ventures with participation from Conviction, A*, and Y Combinator, to build Design Arena, a universal interface for accessing and evaluating the world’s AI capabilities. We built Design Arena because we noticed that models were bad at making things “look good,” so we built a product that was both for humans to use to access design intelligence and for models to use to understand what designs humans want. The idea is simple: People come to Design Arena with a request. Models compete to fulfill the request, and users determine what works best for them. We use that real-world feedback to evaluate models, improve how work is routed, and help people access the right intelligence. Despite its simplicity, the scale of this idea exceeded our wildest expectations: In 6 months, we scaled from $5M to $60M ARR and 5.5M users across 190+ countries as a team of 10, and there’s no slowing down. We’ve helped the world’s leading frontier labs break the news on their state-of-the-art model capabilities. And the best part about it? We play with the models for a living to find out their limits. What’s the limit? Well, you’ll have to join us to find out :)

Martin Camacho reposted thisMartin Camacho reposted thisToday, we launched a free consumer search engine that feels smarter than Google search and faster than ChatGPT -- try it at exa.ai The form factor of this search isn't 10 links or an AI summary, it's a table of information, a table that's as long as you need it to be. No consumer search product has ever offered this before. That's because the web should feel like a database of all the world's information that you could filter and sort however you want. Like an excel sheet containing the whole web. And it should be free. For example, "find me all the novel LLM training papers from the past year" is an important search that Google or ChatGPT can't do. It's the same with lots of valuable searches over people, companies, products, apartments, literally anything. This is just the first version. As we continue to train our search models and scale our infrastructure, exa.ai will get smarter and faster each month. Until it's perfect. I'm not satisfied until humanity gets the search engine it needs -- a fully controllable database of the world's information -- and you shouldn't be either.

Martin Camacho liked thisMartin Camacho liked thisI’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined Suno, the AI music company, as their first CFO. I’m not joining Suno because it’s one of the fastest-growing companies of all time (though it is!). I’m joining because my daughter started singing before she started talking. Music is one of the things that makes humans human, and I’m deeply committed to the mission of using technology to bring more people the joy of creative expression. On an internet that pushes us to mindlessly consume, more than 100 million people have used Suno to make something instead. A world centered on creation and expression is the world I want my daughter to live in. Thank you to Suno's founding team — Mikey, Martin, and Georg — for the incredible opportunity. I’m also grateful to Amy at Menlo, Daegwon at BOND, Kirsten at Forerunner, Eric at IVP, Bejul at Lightspeed, and Antonio at Matrix all the wisdom and support you’ve already shared. And to the fabulous Rob, Jake, Jack, Philip, Zofia, Franklin, and the entire Suno team: I'm so so amped to do the best work of my career alongside you all.

I spent the week onboarding in our Cambridge office, meeting an absurd number of kind, hyper-intelligent people and getting a feel for what makes this place special. The enthusiasm is infectious, and I can't wait to hit the ground running. Starting Monday, I’ll be in the NYC office five days a week, which I’m very much looking forward to after several years of fully remote work. Really excited for what’s ahead. 🎵 🤘

Martin Camacho liked thisMartin Camacho liked thisFour months ago I joined Suno to drive all things revenue on the product side. Quick status update: revenue is a lot :) So I'm hiring a PM for Consumer Revenue. And because this is Suno, the job description is also a song. Sound on in comments 🎧 🎵 You will own free-to-paid conversion. Millions of people are making music with AI, many for the first time in their lives. Your mission is to help more of them decide it's worth their hard-earned dollars to do it with Suno. 🎵 You will run experiments. Lots of them. Subscriber onboarding, upgrade moments, paywalls, offers, retention. If you've ever used a product and instinctively started nitpicking its upgrade flow in your head, we should talk. 🎵 You will live and breathe data, but you're not afraid to use judgment. "Vibes" is a great word for describing songs, less great for describing experiment results. 🎵 You will work on a product people are genuinely obsessed with. From bachelorette parties to toddler birthday parties to my group chats (trust me, firsthand experience), Suno is everywhere and everyone has product feedback for us. I promise you will have the most fun of your career if you're someone who's shipped growth experiments at scale, thinks in cohorts and funnels, and gets a little too excited about subscription businesses. Job link and full song in the comments, and as always, my DMs are open.

Martin Camacho liked thisMartin Camacho liked thisFor as long as I can remember, MUSIC has been a constant in my life. Long before I built recruiting teams, I spent countless hours writing songs, recording demos, and chasing the creative process. Even as my career evolved, that passion never really left—it just found new ways to show up. That’s why I’m incredibly excited to share that I’ve joined SUNO as a Senior Product Recruiter, where I’ll be helping build the Product organization alongside an incredibly talented team. It’s rare to find an opportunity where your personal passions and your professional experience intersect so naturally. Music and artificial intelligence are reshaping what’s possible for creators, and I’m grateful to be part of a team building at the center of that transformation. A sincere thank you to everyone who has made my interviewing experience and first days so memorable— Adam McFarland, Tyler Blum , Zofia Ciechowska, Susan Nowroozi, Hannah Scollins, Gabrielle Vultaggio, Jeff Gardner, Iliana Quadri, Rebecca Villarreal-Anderson, Milan Lee, Martin Camacho, Mikey Shulman and so many other wonderful people to name. Your warm welcome, generosity, and enthusiasm have made joining the team an experience I’ll remember. I'm thankful for my teammates and leaders at Airbnb. Thank you for the support, the opportunities, friendships and the memories I'll carry with me. I’m excited for what’s ahead, the people I’ll get to meet, and the opportunity to help build generationally talented Product teams as SUNO continues to grow! Here’s to new beginnings and to building something that helps more people experience the joy of creating! Here's the next chapter! 🎵 🤖 🍾

Last night I gave a talk for RustNYC to 150 engineers on our optimization of telemetry and logging in Rust. I’ve added my slides here for anyone interested, but TLDR: we achieved throughput improvements of 90x for metric, 15x for logs, and 17x for traces compared to the existing OpenTelemetry and env_logger Rust libraries. We can’t wait to open-source this project to the community! In the meantime, feel free to follow for upcoming announcements, talks, and product releases. Shoutout to Ross Townsend and Nominal for hosting, and Ryan Daum and Mitul Dhawan for their incredible engineering work!

MSK (Managed Kafka) looks simple on the bill until you pull it apart. Most teams know they pay for broker hours, which range from ~$0.043/hr for a kafka.t3.small to over $10/hr for a kafka.m5.24xlarge. A common production setup with three kafka.m5.large brokers costs around $460/month — that's 3 brokers × $0.21/hr × 730 hours — just for compute. However, many overlook the ongoing costs of storage at $0.10 per GB per month and the potential charges for data transfer, which is $0.01 per GB each way for cross-Availability Zone (AZ) traffic. An often missed aspect is the waste incurred from idle clusters. If no messages are processed over a seven-day period, as detected by CloudWatch, the cluster is effectively idle — and unlike EC2, MSK clusters cannot be stopped, only deleted. Common scenarios that lead to idle clusters include deprecated streaming pipelines or development clusters mirroring production setups left running without a purpose. Taking a moment to regularly review cluster activity can prevent unnecessary charges and ensure that resources align with current application needs. CloudWise detects idle MSK clusters automatically so you don't have to audit them manually. #AWS #AWSMKS #CloudWise #CostOptimization #FinOps

I’ve been using a new way to pressure-test my personal investment thesis: forcing Claude and Gemini to debate each other. And so far so good! Frontier models tend to regress to the mean. Ask any single AI a hard question, and you usually get a safe, hedged, consensus answer. But I find that the insights and answers you get from a head to head debate from frontier models are way more interesting. I ended up wrapping this all up as a custom Claude skill. I feed it an idea or strategy, Claude attacks it, and then the skill automatically opens Gemini in my browser to tear apart Claude’s counter-arguments. It outputs a map of exactly where they agree vs. disagree. In my testing so far, they constantly catch each other's blind spots and factual errors. The final output is materially different (and objectively better) than what either model gave me solo. It actually has changed my approach to a specific portfolio rotation I'm making. The crazy part is that this took all of 10 minutes to build. No API keys or complex frameworks required, just browser automation powered by Claude (yes, DOM changes will eventually break it, but that's pretty good ROI to me!). If you aren't using multi-model debate to check your logic, you're leaving leverage on the table!

We recently moved a fairly large search project at Cresra from a self-hosted instance to a managed Serverless Vector DB. On paper, it looked like a no-brainer. We thought: "Why pay for a dedicated server 24/7 when we can just pay for what we use?" It was cheaper... until the users actually started showing up. Here is the math that isn't on the pricing page: 1. Storage is dirt cheap. Storing 100,000 vectors cost us pennies. This is how they get you in the door. 2. "Read Units" are the silent killer. Every time a user asked a question or refreshed their feed, the "meter" spun. In our dev environment, Serverless was perfect. But in production, with sustained traffic, the "per-query" billing model scaled linearly. We looked at the projection and realized that simply reading our own data was going to cost 3x more than just renting a dedicated pod that runs 24/7. The lesson we learned the hard way: • Use Serverless if your traffic is "spiky" (e.g., a chatbot used occasionally). • Use Provisioned (Pods) if you have consistent high throughput (e.g., a search bar or recommendation feed). Don't let the "Free Tier" blind you to the production reality. #softwareengineering #cloudcosts #pinecone #AI #backend #Cresra

What's clear, we're moving from "AI as a tool" to "AI as infrastructure" The teams that treat this shift seriously are building compounding advantages. Everyone else is optimizing for last quarter What I'm watching: 1/ Which of these actually ships to production vs demo-ware 2/ Where inference costs drop next (hello Kimi) 3/ Who's building agent-native workflows vs bolting AI onto legacy What are you tracking?

20% confidence prediction I've had for a while: labs will stop offering API access to frontier models altogether to force people to use their proprietary products. Builders that aren't competing will be fine (OSS, previous-gen models, etc), but it'd very tough to compete directly in the niches they care about.
