O3DE Release 26.05 is now out featuring particles, new component and entity features, auto LODs, ROS upgrades and more! Our biggest collaborative innovation is a new built-in particle system, one of our most requested features! The new Open Particle System preview gem works directly with the Atom high-fidelity real-time render and a feature rich dedicated editor. This release maintains our strong focus on engine stability and user experience with hundreds of patches across all bundled tools. But that's not all, here are some of the highlights: - Users can now create C++ components from a simple graphical tool in the editor, no command-line work needed! - An entity's active state now has finer control and settings can propagate throughout its hierarchy either at startup or at a later time greatly simplifying state control and descendants management. - LODs can now be generated automatically when missing in importing geometry, speeding up asset workflows.
