This week we officially opened our first Asia-Pacific office in Tokyo. To mark this milestone, our CEO Dario Amodei met Prime Minister Takaichi and Digital Minister Matsumoto to discuss how we can support Japan's AI ecosystem. We also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Japan AI Safety Institute to collaborate on AI evaluation methodologies. Building AI responsibly requires international cooperation and shared approaches to testing and assessment. And this week we hosted our first Builder Summit in Tokyo, where we met more than 150 startups and founders building with Claude. An early Claude Code adopter, Japan continues to have our largest user base in APAC. This APAC momentum has been extraordinary—companies like Rakuten, NRI Group, and Panasonic are now using Claude, and our run rate revenue in the region has grown over 10x in the past year. Finally, we're deepening our commitment to Japan's creative community through an extended partnership with the Mori Art Museum, supporting the upcoming Roppongi Crossing 2025 exhibition and future programs exploring art and technology. We're opening an office in Seoul, Korea. Korean developers and enterprises have become some of Claude's most active users globally—ranking in the top five for both total and per capita use. The number of Claude Code active weekly users in Korea has grown by 6x in the past four months, and Korean businesses, like SK Telecom and Law&Company, are leading AI innovators. Expanding our operations to Korea reinforces our focus on democratic Asia-Pacific markets, joining our offices in Tokyo and Bengaluru. Today, we announced that we plan to expand our use of Google TPUs, securing approximately one million TPUs and more than a gigawatt of capacity in 2026. The expansion, worth tens of billions of dollars, dramatically increases our compute resources.
