Michael Bollen reposted thisEin KI-Startup verlegt seinen Hauptsitz von den USA nach Deutschland. Freiwillig. Der Grund ist kein Patriotismus. Es gibt schlicht Geld dafür. Langdock aus Berlin, eines der schnellstwachsenden KI-Startups des Landes, wandelt seine amerikanische Mutter in eine europäische SE um, heute exklusiv im Handelsblatt. Erklärtes Ziel der Gründer: der nächste Hyperscaler aus Europa. Derselbe Gründer, der vor anderthalb Jahren noch öffentlich überlegte, in die USA zu ziehen. Wer die Startup-Welt kennt, weiß, wie ungewöhnlich das ist. Die Delaware-Holding ist der heilige Gral jedes Y-Combinator-Startups, die Investoren bestehen darauf. So eine Struktur gibt niemand aus Sentimentalität auf. Man gibt sie auf, wenn sie Umsatz kostet. Genau das ist passiert. Langdock verkauft souveräne KI an europäische Unternehmen. Mit einer US-Mutter über der Berliner GmbH war das Versprechen wackelig, denn US-Recht wie der CLOUD Act greift bis in jede Tochtergesellschaft. Die Kunden haben angefangen, im Handelsregister nachzuschauen statt im Prospekt. Also musste die Struktur der Story folgen. Das ist die eigentliche Nachricht: Datensouveränität ist vom Compliance-Fußnote zum Kaufkriterium geworden. Es gibt einen Preis dafür, und der ist hoch genug, dass Firmen dafür ihre Kapitalstruktur sprengen. Das vielgescholtene europäische Datenrecht wird gerade zum Verkaufsargument, das man in Amerika nicht kaufen kann. Praktisch heißt das für jeden, der KI einkauft: Fragt nicht nur nach Features und Hosting-Region. Fragt, wem der Laden gehört. Die Gesellschafterliste ist das neue Datenblatt. "Server in Frankfurt" bedeutet wenig, wenn die Mutter in Delaware sitzt.

The country's Ministry of State Security has ordered all state-linked entities to stop using Windows immediately, moving up a deadline that was originally set for February 2027. The directive cites "data security concerns" and pushes organizations toward domestically developed Linux alternatives. Two distributions are being positioned as the main replacements. The first is Kylin OS, developed by Kylin Software Co., which evolved from FreeBSD roots into its own independent Linux based operating system. The second is Unity OS, created by Tongxin Software Technology Co., built on top of Deepin, which itself is based on Debian. Both have been in development for years with government backing, waiting perhaps for exactly this kind of situation. China has been signaling this direction for some time, citing concerns about dependency on American technology infrastructure. After the U.S. placed restrictions on Chinese tech firms in recent years, China accelerated its de-Americanization of tech. Note the scale of the migration. China has hundreds of millions of government-linked computer users. Even a partial migration represents one of the largest single deployments of Linux in human history. For context, the Munich city government switching to Linux was considered a landmark case. China doing it nationally is an entirely different order of magnitude. And yes, China is not the only one doing. Because it was us who made millions flee all around the world, it was us who created a threat to their lives at a scale unknown before in history. We murdered our neighbours and we murdered our country. And we were immigrants. Germans fled their shores, before and after the horrible wars of the 20th century, hoping for a better life or simply hoping for life. So when some morally bankrupt people say, we should not accept asylum seekers anymore or only if they’re white and bright or rich, they’re negating our history and the vow that the young democratic part of Germany swore in 1949 with our Grundgesetz: „Politisch Verfolgte genießen Asylrecht“. We owe it not only to the world, not only to our Christian-humanitarian past that we refer to whenever it seems convenient, not only to God, but we owe it to ourselves and our collective dignity that we rebuilt after we created the Nazi regime to uphold this right, despite all the challenges that bring it with it.

Langdock wandelt seine US-Holding in eine europäische SE um. Die Struktur, die im Silicon Valley oft als heiliger Gral gilt, wird ganz bewusst abgelegt. Der Grund dafür ist so simpel wie zukunftsweisend: Kunden prüfen heute das Handelsregister, nicht mehr nur das Feature-Prospekt. Wer europäische B2B-Kunden gewinnen will, braucht mehr als "Server in Frankfurt". Der US CLOUD Act macht jedes Versprechen von Datensouveränität wackelig, wenn die Muttergesellschaft in Delaware sitzt. Die rechtliche Gefahr ist für den Mittelstand einfach zu groß geworden. Genau das ist ein riesiger Gewinn für den europäischen Tech-Standort. Wir sehen hier einen echten Wendepunkt: EU-Souveränität und strenger Datenschutz sind keine lästigen Compliance-Fußnoten mehr. Sie sind zum ultimativen Kaufkriterium geworden. Das vielgescholtene europäische Datenrecht wird vom angeblichen Standortnachteil zum massiven Wettbewerbsvorteil. Es ist ein Verkaufsargument, das amerikanische Hyperscaler schlicht nicht kopieren können. Ich feiere diesen Schritt. Er beweist exakt das, was wir auch in unseren Gesprächen jeden Tag sehen: Europäische Unternehmen wollen echte Souveränität. Und der Markt ist mittlerweile bereit, genau diese Unabhängigkeit groß zu machen.

Velchikis bewunderte einst Hitler – und lobte ihn dafür, dass dieser die „Bedeutung der Propaganda“ verstanden habe. Ein Hitler-Anhänger im Justizministerium desjenigen Landes, das Europa einst vom Faschismus befreite, steckt hinter dem Schriftsatz im Fall des Presseverbots - let that sink in. Nennen wir die Sache beim Namen: Das N'zi-Gedankengut erlebt derzeit ein Revival. Der Widerstand dagegen findet leider immer noch nur in homöopathischen Dosen statt.
