Stewart Cruickshank posted thisHi - a question to the Infosec experts. Does anyone have experience / recommendations in how to raise spam issues with Google Gmail or Paypal and get some traction with them? We're aware of an issue where a third party spammer is impersonating a brand using a gmail address, emailing contacts and requesting payments to Paypal. It's been reported to the companies but nothing seems to have happened. Thanks in advance #google #infosec

Stewart Cruickshank liked thisI’m so proud to have helped bring back this meaningful partnership between PANGAIA and Coral Gardeners, supporting their vital work in ocean conservation. Working in impact isn’t for the faint of heart, especially in today’s global geopolitical landscape. That’s why it’s such a privilege to bring people together around a shared purpose and create collaborations that can make a real difference. A reminder that sometimes, that one first email really can change everything, right Titouan Bernicot Heiarii Bouissou?! Read more about the partnership here: https://lnkd.in/dQVyQZR4

Stewart Cruickshank liked thisStewart Cruickshank liked thisSome chapters are harder to close than others. This is one of them. This week I finished my time at Arena Racing Company. I'm excited about what comes next, but I'll genuinely miss working with so many great people. When I joined, I don't think any of us appreciated quite how much we'd take on in twelve months. Looking back now, I'm proud of the role I played in helping build the business's digital transformation capability. It gave me the opportunity to understand the business from the ground up and solve some genuinely interesting challenges along the way. What I'll remember most, though, isn't the technology or the projects—it's the people. Throughout the year I had the opportunity to work with talented people from across Finance, IT and the wider business, each bringing different perspectives but all working towards the same goal. The best transformations are built by people who challenge each other, support each other and keep finding a way forward, and those relationships are what I'll take away most from my time at ARC. If there's one thing I'll take away from the last year, it's that great people make even the toughest challenges enjoyable. I'd happily recommend Arena Racing Company to anyone looking for their next challenge. Thank you to everyone I worked with over the last year. It's been a pleasure. I leave proud of what we've been building together and look forward to seeing where the business goes next. I wish everyone at ARC every success for the future.

I am immensely proud of the many achievements made by the BA/NBGA team at Dunstable during my time there. My thanks go to all those who helped make them possible, including bingo operators and club colleagues, all our suppliers, advisors and consultants, DCMS and the Gambling Commission, and of course thousands of weekly bingo playing customers who make the licensed bingo sector such an amazing place to work. I wish everyone a prosperous and successful future and I know my successor Nicole will take the sector forward to a whole new level.

Stewart Cruickshank liked thisStewart Cruickshank liked thisWhen you build a new retirement development and need a name. And you give it to marketing. Who swan around meeting rooms covering the walls with Post-It notes. And disappear up their own backsides. But they produce a name. Which goes through multiple layers of sign off (because this is a big company with retirement villages everywhere). And no-one notices or has the awareness to spot the message in the name. Not what retiree residents want to hear. Cognatum Limited trolling its customers 😂😂

Stewart Cruickshank liked thisStewart Cruickshank liked thisA slightly overdue post now that I'm back from holiday, but I thought I'd finally share why I've been a little quiet over the last week... While we were away in Rhodes, I got down on one knee... and she said yes! 💍❤️ I'd spent months planning every detail and, thankfully, everything came together perfectly. Keeping it a surprise wasn't easy, but seeing her reaction made it all worthwhile. It's a moment I'll never forget. Rhodes was an incredible place to do it, and getting to spend the rest of the holiday together celebrating made the whole trip even more special. Safe to say I'm still on cloud nine and feeling incredibly lucky. It's a memory we'll both treasure forever. Now it's back to reality after an amazing break, but I couldn't be happier to be starting this next chapter. Although, as a recruiter, I think this might be the only placement I'll ever make that comes with a lifetime guarantee... 😅 Excited For What Comes Next! One of the only pictures of me before the sunglasses tan lines appeared can be seen below!

Stewart Cruickshank liked thisStewart Cruickshank liked thisI spend a lot of time in our customer feedback, and certain comments stay with me: "I thought it was brilliant, especially for someone who is blind and finds it difficult to get to a store." "I loved being able to try the items on in the comfort of my own home as I am disabled." "I valued trying the garment on before purchase like in a shop. I am a wheelchair user." We didn't build our services around improving accessibility, the focus was more broadly to improve the online experience. But the more of this feedback I see, the more I want to explore what we could do in this area (and I have no idea where to start 🙈). - Does anyone have connections to people who think about accessibility in retail? - Are there charities or organisations working in this space we should be talking to? - How do we give the brands we work with the tools to actually promote our services to the people who'd benefit most? If this is your area, or you just have a thought, I'd love to hear it.

He was held in the highest esteem and with great affection by students and staff alike; his charisma as well as his individual care and concern for students marked him out as a very fine headmaster, transforming the lives of so many. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family at this time. #RGSCommunity

I’m delighted to be moving into the Commercial and Institutional Lending business. In Payments, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside outstanding teams through a significant engineering and platform transformation. Together, we established AWS as a core foundation and materially improved how we build, scale and operate technology across the estate. What I’m most proud of is the step change in engineering maturity and leadership I’m joining the Commercial and Institutional Lending business at an exciting point in its growth journey, with a focus on driving technology modernisation and simplifying the estate to better serve our business customers. By strengthening engineering capability and modernising core platforms, we can improve speed, resilience and the overall experience for customers across the UK economy. Thank you to everyone I’ve worked with in Payments. The progress we’ve made together has been exceptional, and I’m grateful for the partnership, commitment and expertise that made it possible. I’m excited for this next chapter and look forward to working with talented colleagues across the Commercial and Institutional Lending business to deliver lasting impact and better digital, data-driven outcomes for our customers.

“We thought we had decent reporting.” That’s what the MD said. An £18m turnover UK e-commerce business. - 5 data sources - 3 different “revenue numbers” - Margin calculated differently by finance and ops - Weekly trading meeting dominated by debating the spreadsheet They didn’t have a data problem. They had a clarity problem. Here’s what changed: ✔️ Unified sales, returns, marketing and cost data ✔️ Agreed margin definition across teams ✔️ One trusted version of “gross contribution” ✔️ SKU-level visibility including fulfilment & payment fees Within 90 days: - 11% of SKUs identified as structurally margin-negative - Paid media reallocated away from low contribution products - Repricing action on 14 hero SKUs - Weekly trading meeting reduced from 2 hours to 45 minutes The commercial impact wasn’t magic AI. It was alignment. Most SMEs don’t need more dashboards. They need fewer arguments about the numbers. If you’re unsure how aligned your data really is, the short Data Clarity diagnostic is here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/ejqUK6XD

It’s official – we all love a bargain! In fact, nine out of ten UK shoppers admit to using discount codes! Discount codes can be a brilliant way to bring new customers to your store and encourage existing customers to spend more. However, for eCommerce businesses, it’s important to plan ahead to make sure you don’t end up losing money. In Xigen's latest article, we take a look at how to use discount codes in your online store, including where to use them, how to track them, and how to prevent bargain-loving shoppers from taking advantage: https://lnkd.in/eMaWRa5t
