Nick Lanigan har omdelat dettaNick Lanigan har omdelat dettaI’ve launched KoroVera. But this is not just a new website. It is the result of a pattern I have seen over 25+ years: organisations trying to solve connected problems in disconnected ways. Technology without proper adoption. Risk without clear ownership. Governance without practical action. Change without human capability. Supplier dependency without enough visibility. These gaps do not always look urgent at first. But as businesses scale, gaps become cracks. KoroVera exists to help scaling organisations close those gaps across technology, governance, risk, suppliers and people – so change becomes clearer, safer and more sustainable. I also provide coaching for individuals, teams and leaders navigating change, complexity or transition. If you’re seeing pressure build in your organisation, I’d welcome a conversation. 👇 Website link in the comment below!

Nick Lanigan har omdelat detta🌍 The 2026 Status Report from the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) makes for encouraging reading. Over 80% of both companies and financial institutions surveyed are either already bringing nature-related considerations into transition plans, or intend to do so within 12 months. Are nature-related assessment and disclosures on the way to becoming mainstream? WWF is proud to have been part of capacity- and awareness-building efforts over the past year, collectively (along with other partners) reaching over 7,000 participants in 110 countries. We will continue to be part of this important work. See the full report 👇Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD)

Nick Lanigan har omdelat dettaNick Lanigan har omdelat dettaFor every dollar spent on conserving nature, around $30 supports activities that degrade it. That imbalance is becoming increasingly costly, and is particularly evident across the world's tropical forests. Despite their immense value to our climate and economies, the financial incentives to keep forests standing remain far too limited. The Tropical Forest Forever Facility is designed to help close this gap by creating financial incentives that recognize the value of standing forests and reward their protection. In doing so, it has the potential to reshape how we finance forest conservation and resilience for the long term. As governments prepare for UNGA and Climate Week NYC, this is an opportunity to rethink how we value tropical forests and invest in their future. I share more, including the vital role Europe can play, in this article. https://lnkd.in/efABDREj

Nick Lanigan har reagerat på dettaNick Lanigan har reagerat på dettaLess than a month to go before I close one chapter and start another! Looking back on this time working on nature and biodiversity at #UNPRI, what I'll remember most isn't the reports, webinars or workshops, it's the conversations. Working alongside remarkable colleagues and partners from #TNFD, #UNEPFI, #UNSSE and #WBCSD I've met investors, policymakers and sustainability professionals from every corner of the world, all wrestling with the same questions: what part do investors have in the creation of a nature positive economy? How can we reduce investment risks and create long-term value from nature-related opportunities? I've learnt hundreds of new acronyms, discovered that biodiversity specialists are just as passionate as climate specialists and had the privilege of hearing unique regional perspectives from investors from Jakarta to São Paulo, from Göteborg to Cape Town. What gives me hope is how quickly the conversation has evolved. Nature has moved from being a niche topic discussed by a small group of enthusiasts to something investors increasingly see as central to understanding risk, resilience and opportunity. There is still a long way to go, but the momentum is real. Before I move on, I'd love to see some familiar faces at #PRIinPerson in Amsterdam. 📅 Thurs 15 October, 10:30-12:30 Embedding Nature into Investment Decisions I'll be moderating panels to hear practical examples from #APG, #Mirova, #AP2, #ImpaxAssetManagement and #NatureAlpha. We will also hear insights from #TNFD and #ISSB on the future of nature-related disclosure and reporting. And, if you're looking for something more hands-on: 📅 Fri 16 October TNFD LEAP Training for Investors I'll be co-hosting an interactive investor training day with #TNFD and the #FinanceForBiodiversity Foundation. The session marks the launch of #TNFDLEAPfrog, a new programme designed to help investors strengthen their approach to nature-related assessment and management. Looking forward to what’s coming next, but first, to Amsterdam ❤️🌎❤️ Sign up details in comments #PRIinPerson #Nature #Biodiversity #SustainableFinance #ResponsibleInvestment #TNFD

I just submitted my comment. But I'm not an expert on forest integrity, so I called someone who is: John Reid, who, with the late Tom Lovejoy, wrote the book "Ever Green" on why intact, roadless forests are far more valuable than what we get from "developing" wild lands. His message to USDA: “Rescinding the roadless rule isn’t going to supercharge the economies of [Alaska, Montana] or wherever people are lobbying for it. What it will do is foreclose future choices about how those lands are used... What we actually need to be doing is closing roads, not opening them.” If you have 7 minutes today and want to learn a ton about forest integrity, #publiclands and the fight over USDA's #RoadlessRule, the link to my full interview with John is in the comments. And comments to USDA are open through October 6! Cover: W. W. Norton & Company, Inc.

Nick Lanigan har gillat dettaNick Lanigan har gillat dettaYesterday at #PandaHouse we hosted an important conversation on “The Future of Biodiversity Finance.” The crux of the conversation centered on a new report issued yesterday by WWF, The Nature Conservancy, and The Paulson Institute. The big takeaway? The biodiversity finance gap — the difference between the amount of money required to stop nature loss, and what’s actually available — now stands at $1.3 trillion annually. That might sound like an impossible problem to solve, but the discussion made clear that we actually have all the solutions required to close that gap. We just need to deploy them at scale, and fast. Our report, Financing Nature 2026, serves as a road map for how to do that. It highlights real-world examples of companies, governments, and other actors that are deploying new ways to direct financial flows into nature. And it offers clear recommendations about the actions we need to take across policy, finance, business, technology, and communities to get this right. As WWF’s CEO, Carter Roberts, said, "This report proves these strategies work. But it also makes clear we need to deploy them at the pace and scale nature loss demands." Our thanks to Amy Harder for moderating the discussion and making this a fun and informative hour for our audience.

Nick Lanigan har reagerat på dettaNick Lanigan har reagerat på dettaFollowing a horrific summer with record-high temperatures and fires across Europe, resilience is rapidly moving up the political and public agenda. The Taskforce on Net Zero Policy has long stressed the importance of building climate resilience and its systematic integration into climate policies, while emphasising that there is no better adaptation policy than fast decarbonisation. Today, we are launching our new briefing, Resilience: From Definition to Delivery, exploring the policy frameworks needed to mobilise investment and move resilience from ambition to action. Physical climate risks—from extreme heat to flooding—are already disrupting businesses, infrastructure, and livelihoods worldwide. The briefing outlines four key actions for policymakers to unlock investment in resilience: • Strengthen climate, nature, and social risk disclosure requirements • Expand sustainable finance taxonomies to classify credible resilience investments • Embed resilience into transition planning frameworks • Develop national resilience strategies with clear financing pathways Looking ahead to COP31, the report sets priorities to accelerate resilience investment and better connect climate, nature, and social objectives. Nick Lanigan har reagerat på dettaNick Lanigan har reagerat på dettaAnother milestone passed in our Rothbury appeal! With 7 days still remaining before the deadline, more than 7,000 donors have helped our Rothbury Estate match appeal reach its target. This extraordinary collective effort has given a major boost to the wider campaign to raise £30 million and secure the future of The Rothbury Estate, one of the most significant opportunities for nature recovery in England. What began as a £100,000 match fund grew to £800,000, thanks to the generosity of The Dixon Foundation, Ringtons, The Walker Foundation, The Spear Charitable Trust and an anonymous donor, who responded to the remarkable momentum created by supporters. This achievement demonstrates the power of people, communities, trusts, foundations and businesses coming together behind a shared vision for nature. To everyone who donated, shared the appeal, attended events, volunteered, fundraised or championed the project: thank you.

Posting this week's ECM Pulse slightly earlier than usual, given the fast changing nature of this news cycle. This weekend's escalation over Greenland could have huge impacts on this year's IPO pipe, or, it could all be resolved by the time issuers makes it to market. But increased noise on tariffs, or any other geopolitical shocks, be it Greenland related or any other form of Black Swannery that we may encounter in 2026, is clearly not helpful for European IPOs and is likely motivate some sellers, particularly private equity funds, to pursue bilateral sales for their businesses rather than be stuck in IPO purgatory. Some 96% of all UK-based funds deliver value to shareholders, according to disclosures from asset managers' fund boards. But some observers are not so sure, Mark Mwaungulu reports. "The fact that the vast majority of active funds underperform their benchmark sits uncomfortably at odds with the fact that fund managers say [over] 90 per cent of funds are offering value," one consumer watchdog told Ignites Europe Mwaungulu dug into public disclosures to uncover that of the 1,652 funds reviewed, only 69 were deemed to be not delivering, according to the fund's own governance bodies. https://lnkd.in/eieRkgit
