Luke Mellor heeft dit geplaatstLemFi is live with Juicebox! 🧃 The past year of building out our TA function has involved auditing our tools and processes. It started (on week 1!) with getting in Ashby and having a powerful ATS with its AI interview notetaker to power scalable data-driven hiring. We then started to build and deploy our own tools with Claude to improve efficiency, experience and excellence. Being empowered to be AI builders allows you to stretch how far you can think about build vs. buy with tooling. But as we double down on our search strategy, we realised a gap in sourcing tooling. LinkedIn Recruiter can only carry you so far. And their strict data protection rules make it impossible to vibe code working tools yourself. So, we went to market. We spoke to pretty much every well known sourcing tool under the sun, we landed with Juicebox. Here's what swayed us: ➡️ Its strong two-way connection with Ashby ➡️ Multi-step sequencing with aliases and AI message customisation ➡️ Its advanced filtering capabilities - allowing you to filter by average tenure, preset target companies, funding rounds and more ➡️ Advanced models that provide high fit profile suggestions consistently ➡️ Agents that put sourcing on auto-pilot, meaning recruiters can wake up to a new shortlist of strong match candidates ➡️ Strong built in analytics meaning we can visualise and measure our performance There's so much discourse around sourcing tools: which ones to opt with, should you invest or not... thought sharing would be useful for anyone also in a similar situation. Already seeing great results with the platform, and looking forward to the future with the folks at Juicebox! Thanks Harsh Verma for all your help and patience getting us on board.

Luke Mellor heeft dit gedeeldFor my Data Science network... We're on the look out for a Staff Data Scientist to report into Srivats Tandlam in our Credit tribe. In this role you would be the person who sets the scientific standard for how we underwrite, how we monitor our portfolio, and how we grow responsibly. That means owning the end-to-end model lifecycle in production and partnering directly with Credit Risk, Product, and Engineering to shape decisions that affect real people's financial lives. Drop myself or James Eagle a message if you're interested! https://lnkd.in/eVtf5X6s

Luke Mellor heeft dit gerepostLuke Mellor heeft dit gerepostSupported by our successful cross border business, our UK credit product is growing quickly and we’re hiring a Head of Credit Finance to own the P&L, the funding model and the economics behind the next phase. UK first, more markets after. A great opportunity to build a credit finance function rather than inherit one, in a team that’s scaling fast.

In this episode of FinTech in Focus, Ridwan Olalere, CEO of LemFi, explains how the company he founded is building a financial services hub for immigrants globally. From access to credit, to sending money home, the conversation explores how fintech can help bridge financial gaps for people building lives across borders. Luke Mellor heeft dit geplaatstIn the LemFi talent team, we lean on AI to cut hours of admin, so we can spend our time on the work that actually makes us good recruiters. We recently launched an internal hub of TA tools we built with Claude Code over the past few months. One we use every day is the Hiring Process Pack (HPP) generator. It takes the transcript from a role briefing and turns it into a complete, end-to-end HPP: ➡️ Job description: written in our tone of voice and our template, ready to paste straight into Ashby. ➡️ Target companies: a shortlist pulled from our dashboard of hundreds of target companies (another tool in the hub), scored by relevance to the role and to us as a business. ➡️ Headhunting search strings: Boolean and X-Ray strings, ready to drop into LinkedIn and Google. ➡️ AI level for the role: we set an expected level of AI competency for different roles, and we assess it throughout the process. ➡️ The hiring process: we run a standardised interview plan across all roles, and the generator provides role specific example questions, positive and negative indicators, and even suggested case study materials and data packs. We don't let AI make the decisions. Every part of the HPP is editable natively in the tool. Add or remove target companies. Tweak the job description. Then share the whole pack with the hiring team to sense check that everyone is aligned before moving forward. The HPP is only ever as good as the kick-off call behind it. Briefings are booked for a minimum of 45 minutes. The TA partner asks the direct questions that pressure test requirements and challenge vague wish lists. The questions only a good recruiter knows to ask. The AI does the rest, building the HPP in about 90 seconds and saving hours of back-and-forth, manual admin and lost time across the process. This is just one of multiple tools we're incorporating into how we work every day. What's the last thing you built and operationalised with AI for recruiting?

Luke Mellor vond dit interessantLuke Mellor vond dit interessantWOAH! Nubank is in talks to buy Monzo for up to $13bn 🤯 Once the darling of the UK fintech scene. Now an acquisition target. Sky News reports early talks valuing Monzo at £8bn to £10bn ($13bn), about double its £4.5bn valuation in 2024. Its board is also weighing a new round above £8bn ($10.4bn) to fund a push into mainland Europe. Monzo has struggled with leadership changes and feature velocity. CEO TS Anil stepped down after a boardroom row last year, and ex-Google exec Diana Layfield took over in February. Revolut, meanwhile, has 80m customers, a reported $115bn valuation and a full UK banking licence since March. Monzo launched in the US in 2019 and has yet to establish a second market. What it does have is UK and EU banking licences, 15.2m customers, £25.7bn of deposits and deep integrations that would take years to build. It makes a sensible acquisition target. I find the strategy of this fascinating... Monzo barely uses its balance sheet to lend. It held £2.3bn of loans against £25.7bn of deposits at its March year-end, so it lends out less than 10p of every £1. Monzo would need much more capital to lend at scale. It still uses standardised risk weights, which make each loan more expensive to hold. Nubank is the master of lending. It has a $39.4bn credit portfolio against $45.3bn of deposits, so it lends out about 87 cents of every dollar. It could turn Monzo into something very different, with the capital and credit models to lend out far more of that £25.7bn. Nubank also won conditional approval for a US bank charter in January. Monzo would add the UK and EU, right on Revolut's home turf. It's about to get spicy between the big two. Remember, these are early talks and Monzo declined to comment. It might never happen. UK credit also pays thinner margins than Nubank's home markets, where its net interest margin is 22.9%. Still. 🍿. If Nu comes to Europe. European franchises have another thing to worry about besides Revolut.

Luke Mellor vond dit interessantLuke Mellor vond dit interessantExcited to be covering a fun but difficult topic at the next VC Platform EMEA Summit...building networks is a core muscle every good VC has to work, but making sure that network actually serves the right purposes is where the difficulty comes. Add in the need for the network to have commercial success and you've got a sizeable endeavour on your hands. What makes this work best is not attacking ICPs for your portfolio but building lasting relationships with the intention of uncovering opportunities. Come learn more in Amsterdam!

Luke Mellor vond dit interessantLuke Mellor vond dit interessantHow are senior talent leaders using AI to reshape hiring? I had the privilege to moderate this moving topic with Alice, EileenEileen, Gillian, Sorin and Matthias in Berlin. It’s pretty clear from our candid conversation this morning that AI is changing the job not the judgement and some of the insights shared were practical and cut through a lot of the hype. Thanks to the panel and audience for the great discussion also Chapter 2 for co-hosting with us at Ashby.

Hiring in 2026? Episode 40 Wyn’s Weekly Recruitment Report The wrong recruiter costs you 6 months. The right one builds your revenue engine. Most agencies still rely on speed and volume. That approach fails in today’s market. What should you look for? ✔️ Clear experience in your GTM model ✔️ A structured way to assess how someone sells ✔️ Market mapping before CVs are sent ✔️ Confidence to challenge your brief ✔️ Support through interviews and decision making What should you avoid? ⚠️ CVs in 24 hours with no depth ⚠️ Recruiters who can’t explain how they assess performance ⚠️ Over reliance on job ads ⚠️ No support beyond the introduction If they don’t understand your customer, they won’t find someone who can sell to them. Hiring now is precision. You’re not buying experience. You’re hiring someone to perform. #salesrecruitment #b2bsales #hiringstrategy #leadership #saleshiring #recruitment #sale
