An Overview of Persistent Homology
AUBG 11th Student Faculty Conference "Fellowship of the Mind" 2017
See publicationA broad view of one of the most used methods in topological data analysis – persistent homology. The paper presents the necessary topological knowledge to understand with topological persistence.
Presented preliminary results of my senior thesis with a slightly different focus and perspective then my mainline research. -
An Overview of Basic Fractal Dimensions
AUBG 10th Student Faculty Conference "Fellowship of the Mind" 2016
See publicationThe paper discusses popular fractal constructions methods, presents several fractals and explores measures of dimensionality. The focus is on intuitively understanding topological and similarity dimensions. It provides several examples and calculation of the various dimensions on popular fractals.

Categorical and Topological Methods: An Overview of Persistence

The senior thesis for completing my mathematics major at AUBG.
Persistent homology is a relatively new homology theory for use in a computation setting which builds upon simplicial homology by classifying topological features of a space by their stability over some varying parameter. This method gives researchers the ability to qualify significant features of a space merely by examining samples from it. Because of this, and the method's focus on computability, persistent homology is one of…The senior thesis for completing my mathematics major at AUBG.
Persistent homology is a relatively new homology theory for use in a computation setting which builds upon simplicial homology by classifying topological features of a space by their stability over some varying parameter. This method gives researchers the ability to qualify significant features of a space merely by examining samples from it. Because of this, and the method's focus on computability, persistent homology is one of the primary tools for topological data analysis. The primary goal of this paper is to discuss the background needed to understand persistence, how the method functions, what are the applications of persistent homology. -
Senior Project I: Engine for Procedural World Generation
-
Senior project to complete my computer science degree at AUBG. The goal was to develop a framework for easing the work of programmers to generate procedural terrain by giving them access to a simple rendering engine and library for random and noise functions along with various transformation utilities.
Honors & Awards
-
Valedictorian
American University in Bulgaria
I was the person with the highest overall GPA, achieving the maximum possible of 4.0, when graduating from AUBG, and for this I was declared as the valedictorian of the class. In addition, I am the first person to accomplish this while completing a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science.
-
Outstanding Achievement in Mathematics
American University in Bulgaria
I was the sole recipient of the award for having significant academic accomplishments in mathematics at AUBG's Honors Convocation in the Spring semester, 2017. The award is given to exceptional students in mathematics who have proven themselves academically both in and outside the classroom by being devoted to the subject beyond what is required in the curriculum.
