David Phull shared thisA great day hosting customers at Red Bull Technology Centre.David Phull shared thisWithin the next five years, connected car technologies, shared and multi-modal mobility, and autonomous vehicles will transform what consumers and businesses need and expect from insurance. To thrive amid unprecedented disruption, carriers must master new technologies, ecosystems, and business models—or risk getting left in the rearview mirror. The ‘Future of Mobility’ was the topic of discussion on day 1 of the Guidewire UK Innovation Tour 2025. The Red Bull Racing HQ in Milton Keynes was the first stop, where the touring party of insurance leaders were welcomed by Formula 1 Strategist Neil Martin. For more than 25 years, Neil has been at the forefront of high-stakes decision-making in one of the most technologically advanced industries in the world, and one which has a number of similarities to the insurance sector, including: 🏎️ Both F1 and insurance technology rely on real-time data analysis, predictive modeling, and AI to optimize performance and decision-making; 🏎️ Similar to how Red Bull uses simulations to predict car performance, insurers enhance their risk modelling using AI, to transform their catastrophe preparedness and response; 🏎️ Advanced sensor technology and data processing used in F1 can help insurers to launch innovative insurance products leveraging vehicle data. The touring party then headed to MK: Smart - the UK's First Smart City Experience Centre. A panel of smart city leaders moderated by transport innovation expert Timothy Papandreou discussed the future of urban mobility, examining a range of critical issues including the demands of smart infrastructure and what insurers must do to keep pace. It was then back to sunny London to meet with mobility tech firm AppyWay, where CEO Dan Hubert outlined how the company is helping local authorities transform urban transport and kerbside management. Final stop of the day was LSE Cities at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Dr. Philipp Rode provided insights into what sustainable cities will look like, and how LSE research is informing strategies for de-risking urban futures. #insurance #insurtech #mobility

David Phull liked thisDavid Phull liked thisAs you can see from the photo, to say I was 'surprised' would be an understatement - walking away with Guidewire Software Annual EMEA Values Champion award at our FY27 EMEA RKO in Malta. The real highlight for me wasn't the award itself, but knowing the recognition came directly from my colleagues across Sales, Services, and CSM. Working alongside people you deeply respect makes the daily effort effortless. Together, we’ve made an intentional push to work with our customers and connect their needs with teams across all of Guidewire. Breaking down organisational boundaries to deliver real customer results is what makes this company so special. Thank you to everyone who voted, collaborated, and pushed along us to success this year. Here’s to an even bigger FY27! Will McAllister, Graham Quinn, Susan Brady, Anaïs Gouzon, Mathias Grobet, Emma Greene & Sheridon Glenn thank you.

David Phull liked thisDavid Phull liked thisI used to be a real snob and I think it has really cost me. I am talking about sales and I think it stems from when I was looking at university courses, there was no degree for sales. I got a degree in Business Studies with a focus on Marketing with French as I met Eddie Jordan (F1 boss) and asked him what degree I needed to work in Formula 1 and he told me PR with a language (no engineering for girls back then). Wanting a year studying in Paris, I jumped at the idea! I had a great time and got to work in loads of amazing marketing roles but over 8 years in Coca-Cola I had the opportunity to work in sales but I kept in my marketing lane. It was sooo short sight sighted as all roles lead to sales!! Whether you're a lawyer trying to become a partner, you need to be able to sell more billable hours. Or you're a nurse like my cousin, he's selling to children on taking their medication consistently so they can get better. If you're a leader of, let's say, the supply chain department, you need to sell your team on the vision and goals for that quarter. It is a crucial and a really underrated skill. I am learning the art of objection handling, reframing, listening, rejection (ghosting is brutal!!) all by trial and error and I think it's absolutely fundamental to everyone's success. Currently dinner party talk is "What should my kids do in the future of AI?" My advise is if your child is not sure what they want to do then find an established tech company, get trained on sales, and that will be a skill that they can use for the rest of their life. It is no surprise that many CEO's have sales/commercial experience. I have a huge newfound respect for the skill and I am making up for it now! If you know of a sales specialist to follow on linkedin please let me know...

David Phull liked thisDavid Phull liked thisThe best productivity hack I know costs $0. Just 30 minutes outside is all you need!! One of the many reasons I love living in Monaco and spending summer in Ibiza is that I can start my day outside (preferably by the ocean). Moving my body and getting fresh air before I open my laptop is a non-negotiable for me. Even on the busiest Silicon Valley trips for Rosberg Ventures, I keep the same rule. I recently had a “running” meeting with a COO in San Francisco, and it ended up being one of the most productive meetings while I was there! There’s also real science behind why it boosts your focus more than going to the gym. I saw a study where they made people walk outside for 15 minutes. Then they made them walk indoors. The outdoor walk showed a way stronger effect on brain activity (the kind linked to attention and focus). So it’s no coincidence then that some of my clearest thinking happens when I’m outdoors, and not sitting behind a desk. Here’s why 30 minutes outside can change the way you start your day: 👉 Morning daylight helps regulate your body clock. This means you’ll be more alert during the day and sleep way better at night. I’ve been working on my sleep hygiene a lot recently with all the added travel, and this has been helping a lot! 👉 Movement clears mental fog big time! Sometimes the answer isn’t another coffee (If you’re one of my Italian friends, please don’t come for me for saying that). But instead of staring at your screen, hoping that the problem will solve itself- just get out and move! 👉 Think of it as a warm-up lap for your brain. In Formula 1, you would never push at 100% on cold tyres. Your brain is no different. Give it a chance to warm up before the meetings and stress begin. The key to a happy brain is simpler than you think. Daylight. Movement. Time away from your screen. Connection. What’s the first thing you do in the morning before you start work?

Digital Modus Software… • 3K followers
We all want public services that feel simple, supportive, and human - but making that real takes more than technology. In my role at Digital Modus Ltd, I’ve seen this firsthand across central government, the NHS, and local government customers. Salesforce gives us a secure, flexible, AI-enabled platform to build on — but the real transformation comes from how we work with people: • Putting the user's (whether citizens or civil servants) needs first • Co-designing with frontline teams - make it impactful from day one • Delivering incremental capabilities, meaningful steps drive adoption • Staying focused on outcomes, not checklists Our team brings empathy, pace, and deep public sector experience — so solutions are adopted, sustainable, and actually make life easier for those using them. That’s why public organisations trust us to turn digital ambition into real-world impact. #DigitalModus #Salesforce #PublicSector #NHS #LocalGovernment #CentralGovernment #GovTech

Trust isn’t given — it’s earned over time through superior performance, transparency, and measurable results. When great software delivers real impact and is supported by a team that genuinely cares, listens, and responds to customer needs, something powerful happens. The relationship moves beyond a traditional vendor-client dynamic. It becomes a true partnership — one built on mutual respect, shared goals, and a common vision for the future!
