David Jacobs نشر ذلكI don’t post on here very often, but I felt compelled to this time. I’m incredibly optimistic about the future. Rather than obsessing over AI job loss, we could be focusing on helping the next generation become AI-native. ( and before you chime in yes I'm very aware of all the dangers looming ) My son is 7 and needed a bit of extra help with comprehension over the holidays, so I built "mebral.com" (https://mebral.com/) in about an hour using Claude Code. It has maths tests across various school levels, English comprehension, reading assessment using the microphone, and a few fun games. It’s completely free for anyone who wants to use it. Whilst far from perfect and " enterprise ready, it shows what someone with little coding knowledge can do in under an hour. ( I do the same for business operations tools ) After my son seeing how fast I put this together, his immediate response was “I want to build an app.” I explained that he needed to flesh out the idea So I set him up with Gemini voice. He spent 30mins on the sofa talking through his idea and turning it into a spec. Then I told him to ask it to create a "claude.md" file, we then used variant.com to come up with some design ideas, I pressed go, and this is the result: mathgas.com Fart boosts included. He was absolutely thrilled seeing his idea come to life. Yes, it’s half-baked, but it’s fun, it’s real, and now he’s already thinking about what to build next. There’s a lot of doomerism out there, but honestly, I think this is an amazing time to be alive. my favourite anecdote was during his conversation with Gemini which I overheard Sebastian to Gemini " how do I get money into my bank account selling my app" Gemini " you need a payment gateway like stripe" Sebastian to me " Dad I need stripe" Anthropic , Variant

David Jacobs شارك ذلكDavid Jacobs شارك ذلكOne of the the great things about working at Yopa is the awesome people we work alongside. As a team, we work tirelessly for our customers but also go out of our way to support and share knowledge internally, to help each other develop. Tonight, I’ve had the opportunity to observe our National Sales Manager Kane Hennessy complete a home valuation, at 7:30pm (which at Yopa isn’t out of the norm as our service is based around what suits the customer best). I simply cannot list all the things I’ve learned in a fantastic, insightful hour but it’s been great to see and feel how professional, warm & genuine the process is with Yopa. Kane was well prepared and his knowledge was fantastic. He really took the time to understand & engage with the homeowners. They were soon talking about all aspects of buying and selling (and renovating), yet non of it felt forced or “sales” driven. What was great to observe was that this was all about doing what was right for these customers, to deliver an amazing home moving experience - at the very first step. A massive thank you to Kane who went out of his way to make this happen for these customers today - whilst helping me increase my knowledge! #weareYopa #valuation #customer #customerexperience

I've attended this event for 20 years so to be inside the ropes, watching the golf close up and caddying for a friend; it was special. Good luck to Foxy this week; here's hoping he adds another star to his bib and takes home a second W at Wentworth!

David Jacobs أضاف إعجابًا إلى ذلكDavid Jacobs أضاف إعجابًا إلى ذلكLast week I wrote: Creators have a new audience: AI. Today, we're doing something about it. I'm excited to announce that Influencer has partnered with Profound to launch Creator-First AEO. The way people discover brands is changing incredibly quickly. Ask ChatGPT, Gemini or another AI platform what product to buy and its answer is built from evidence across the internet. Reviews. Comparisons. Tutorials. Recommendations. Real experiences. In other words, the exact kind of content creators have been producing for years. This creates an entirely new role for creator marketing. Together with Profound, we can now understand how AI sees a brand, where competitors are winning and what consumers are actually asking, then turn that intelligence into creator strategies that produce credible, useful evidence for both humans and AI. Put simply: Understand what AI is saying about your brand. Then create the evidence that helps shape what it says next. I've been convinced for a while that AEO is going to become a major part of how brands think about discovery. But I don't believe the answer is creating more content for machines. It's creating genuinely useful human content that machines happen to learn from too. Huge thank you to James Cadwallader, Dylan Babbs, Eliott Lee, Tessa McManus, James Boseley and the wider Profound team for leaning into this with us. And internally, Jenny Penich, Caspar Lee, Anastasia Evans, Amar Braithwaite, Paul Heithaus, Sophie Sedgwick-Heath and the wider Influencer team for helping turn an idea into something we can now put in the hands of our clients. This is only the beginning. If you're a brand wondering what ChatGPT currently thinks about you, we're opening up Creator-First AEO audits now. More on the partnership below, alongside my conversation with Katie Deighton at The Wall Street Journal on what this shift means for creator marketing and brand discovery 👇 https://lnkd.in/es2Dk25d

David Jacobs أضاف إعجابًا إلى ذلكDavid Jacobs أضاف إعجابًا إلى ذلكCoworking is dead. 💀 Not the desks. Not the buildings. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭... Walk into any coworking space in London and tell me who it's for. You can't. 𝗡𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻. 🤷♂️ Because every operator is competing on the exact same thing: ✨ Nicer amenities ☕ Nicer kitchens 🏢 Nicer lobbies 💸 Then a race to the bottom on price And the result? 𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦. Why wouldn't they? There's an identical option down the road for £20 less a month. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 👇 The operators who win over the next 10 years will do what every other successful industry has already done: build for ONE customer. 🎨 A workspace for creatives 🧘 A workspace for health and wellness ⚖️ A workspace for legal 💻 A workspace for tech That's how real community gets built. Not by putting random companies next to each other and calling it "community." When a videographer is next door to a record label who's across the hall from a creative agency, they actually have something in common. They share work. They become friends. The space starts to represent who they are, not just their address. And the numbers back it up 📈 People don't stay for the coffee. They stay for the people around them. That's why at Qube we don't start with desks. We start with studios 🎙️🎧🎬 Music studios. Podcast studios. Content studios. Because that's what the creator economy actually needs, and when studios are the heartbeat of the building, you only attract the people who need them. Curation by design, not by accident. We're not trying to be everything to everyone. We're trying to be the best space in London for one community. I think that's the future of this industry. And i'm very excited about it. #Coworking #CreatorEconomy #FutureOfWork #Qube #London

David Jacobs أضاف إعجابًا إلى ذلكDavid Jacobs أضاف إعجابًا إلى ذلكGolf - it's the only sport that can transcend generations I got to play golf with my 88 year old Grandfather, Barry, last week 🥹 He plays at least 3 times a week and swears it's what keeps him young. Judging by his swing and that he's still an 18 handicap (!) I believe him. My grandfather gave the greatest gift - getting me into golf at a young age. The number of friends I have that now say to me "I wish I started younger!". My advice to anyone with young kids, give them a chance to learn the sport young and even if it doesn't stick, it gives them such a natural swing if they ever choose to get back into the game in the future. I picked up the sport aged 7 and it's been a constant in my life ever since. To get to play with my grandfather, my step dad and little brother, it is a pretty special moment and something only golf can really offer. We teed it up at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa; and spent a couple nights at the the beautifully re-developed Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere. They've done an incredible job with that place - go check it out!

David Jacobs أضاف إعجابًا إلى ذلكDavid Jacobs أضاف إعجابًا إلى ذلك£365m to £204m. That's what happened to profits at Britain's 100 biggest restaurant groups this year, a 44% fall, even as their revenues grew. PizzaExpress, Five Guys, Wagamama, Zizzi... the best-resourced operators in the country, with finance teams whose whole job is protecting margin, and they still couldn't hold the line. It got me sitting with an uncomfortable question: if the biggest names in the room are taking a hit like this, what's actually happening to the independents who don't have that machinery behind them? I don't claim to have it all worked out, but I've put down some thoughts below on what this tells us about the industry, why the government's business rates plans might be missing most of hospitality, and why I think the fiscal case for the sector is stronger than the one we've been making. Genuinely interested to hear what others on the ground are seeing. #Hospitality #UKHospitality #RestaurantIndustry

David Jacobs أضاف إعجابًا إلى ذلكDavid Jacobs أضاف إعجابًا إلى ذلكWe made Praktika profitable in two months. Here’s how: 🔘 Shipped a new native iOS app. Users love a fast, stable app, and the metrics moved immediately. Best performance and best avatars we’ve ever delivered. 🔘 Made avatars more alive. Emotions now trigger from the conversation itself: they wave, react, play with their hair. 🔘 Built another in-house model (pronunciation assessment) on top of our avatar tech saving more AI costs. We keep delivering proprietary models. Rare for consumer apps. 🔘 Launched new languages and new avatars. 🔘 Onboarded more corporate clients. Yes, Praktika has a B2B offer. Few know about it, but companies onboard their teams and track progress on a dedicated dashboard. 🔘 Stayed lean. Well over $1mn revenue / employee, and everyone is a builder now. Non-devs shipped our own ad manager, creative automation with ad generation, CPP tool, analyst agent, web builder. The list keeps growing. 🔘 Insane delivery speed while the quality bar is not tolerated. 🔘 Got millions of organic views with AI in-house content production. The story goes that AI apps can’t make money but we’re an AI native company: an AI native team building proprietary models, and caring about the mission more than anyone. Thank you, Team Praktika.ai ❤️ Nikita Maidanov Eugene Tsiunovich Beatrice Aliprandi Anton Marin Ilya Chernyakov Next up: a new product that puts our avatar and agentic tech in everyone’s hands. Anyone will be able to build with it. Stay tuned! p.s. Want to be first to try? Send me a note.

We’ve put together a free Pre-Raise Checklist for UK startup founders 🗣️ It’s designed so you can make sure you’re actually ready to raise before you start talking to investors. This guide will help you: → Pressure-test raise readiness → Sense-check your round size and structure → Avoid chasing investors who will never invest → Enter fundraising with a plan, not hope This is based on what I've learnt along the way, and the patterns we see across hundreds of UK raises. 👉 Comment “checklist” below and I’ll send it over. 👈 Remember to make sure we're connected so you can receive my DM. Big thanks to Matt Thomas, Jonathan Day, Emmi Nicholl, Harrison F. and Jason Druker, MBA for your valued contributions to this guide 💪 #earlystage #ukfounder #startup

We are seeing a huge return to startups/scaleups having full time offices. Over 52% of founders/CEOs in the London’s startup & scale-up community want their teams in the office more for: - Building culture and stronger relationships - Easier, more immediate collaboration and problem-solving - A more defined “office” vs home boundary that helps focus/structure work. #officespace #workspace #londonoffice #startups #tallyworkspace

Fundraising readiness is a build process, not a pitch-deck sprint. Canopy announced a 12-week virtual SEIS Investment Readiness Programme on 30 July 2026 for first-time founders preparing to raise up to £250,000. It combines asynchronous content, peer support and on-demand expert support. For founders, the useful takeaway is to treat due diligence, investor expectations and timing as operating work—not as tasks to start after the deck is finished. What part of fundraising readiness is hardest to build early: evidence, materials, investor fit or timing? https://lnkd.in/eRwB8Mr9 #StartupStories #SEIS #StartupFunding
