Well the reality is actually very different... When I first started speaking to AS Controls, they had growth plans on the horizon but they had quickly identified that their current tech stack wasn't able to facilitate that growth. Safe Drive Systems Ltd is a UK-based vehicle safety technology company that supplies and supports commercial vehicle electronics such as cameras, DVRs, blind spot systems, and reversing aids to improve fleet safety, compliance, and security. Phillip Gagg and I worked closely with Jake to understand the challenges in their current operations and where efficiencies could be made. By implementing Orderwise, SDS are able to eliminate their time-consuming and manual processes, freeing up valuable time across the business, allowing the team to focus on growth and customer service. Make An Entrance is a UK-based, family-run manufacturer specialising in bespoke hand-stitched doormats and entrance matting products, with a focus on traditional craftsmanship and custom solutions for homes and businesses. Stuart Burlton and his team approached us earlier this year in their hunt for improving efficiency and removing errors in their current processes. By working alongside the team, we were able to map their processes into Orderwise. Christopher Day posted thisAre your current systems able to handle the new UK Vape Tax? As of the 1st of October 2026, the new tax will create further Duty, Pricing and Inventory complexities for businesses that are managing their stock on spreadsheets, or basic POS systems. Companies that are handling a large number of SKU's will find that costing becomes more complex. The duty will be applied per ml of liquid, meaning different bottle sizes are subject to different price increases. As well as this, during the transition period many businesses will be managing inventory purchased before and after the duty comes into effect. Businesses will also be holding stock with a significantly increased value and will become more expensive to hold. However, it's not all bad news... Orderwise already has the functionality in place to ensure that our customers can easily transition without the worry of how they will manage the new regulations. SKU's can be managed with ease and reported on efficiently, as well as ensuring that the correct amount of inventory is being purchased at the right time.
