There was some great discussion about local needs, the gaps that make it harder for people to move towards and into work and the solutions we could develop together. From transport and childcare to mental health, disability and wider health barriers, the conversations focused on practical ways we could combine local knowledge, expertise and services to make a real difference. Two years of changing lives, building stronger partnerships and creating opportunities for people to move forward 💙 Today, we welcomed colleagues from probation and local support organisations to our Plymouth CFO Activity Hub to celebrate two years of CFO Evolution in the South West. We kicked off the event by giving our guests a taste of life at the Hub, with a group activity that’s a firm favourite with our participants – Hobby Hub. 🎨 Together, attendees got creative making their own handmade pieces of jewellery, experiencing first-hand just one of the many activities we use to bring people together, build confidence and encourage new skills. From there, we reflected on a fantastic two years supporting hundreds of people on their rehabilitation journeys, celebrated some brilliant achievements and, importantly, looked ahead to how we can work together to reach and support even more people in our communities. We heard from our valued training and employment partners, Greenlight Safety & Training and Paramount Personnel , about the opportunities that strong local partnerships can create. But some of the most powerful words of the day came from two of our participants, who generously shared their own experiences and the profound impact CFO Evolution has had on their lives and progression since leaving custody. Their stories were a powerful reminder of what can happen when someone is given the right support, opportunities and belief to take those next steps – and inspired the room to think about what more we can achieve by working together. Bacon sarnies and a positive start to the week! 🥯 Our Peer Support Group got together in #Torbay for a catch-up, reflecting on their weekends, sharing the positive actions they’d taken and talking about what they’re looking forward to in the week ahead. There was time for lighter conversation too – from favourite films and sandwiches to a competitive round of Flipchart Grand Prix! Peer support creates a valuable space for people to connect, build confidence and recognise their own progress. 🙌 These shared activities are helping our participants to strengthen their skills, motivation and positive routines – all important steps on the journey towards employment. #PeopleEmployerPlaces #PeerSupport #Careers

For National Inclusion Week, we’re celebrating our partnerships. Today we are focusing on Timpsons Limited and the practical approach they take to creating opportunities for people who may face barriers to employment. From looking beyond formal qualifications, to offering working trials and creating supported employment opportunities, Timpson focuses on what people can contribute and what they can achieve. It’s a great example of something we believe more employers can do: make inclusion part of everyday recruitment and employment, rather than treating it as a separate initiative.
