Horus Music

Today marks 20 years since Horus Music released its first record. “Turn On The Sky” by Glasgow alternative rock band Latonic was released on 25 September 2006 and reached Number 30 on the Official Independent Singles Chart. Latonic was personally signed by Horus Music founder Nick Dunn. Under the Horus label and management, the band performed regularly at Barfly venues across the UK while securing national radio play and press coverage. Produced by Chris Gordon, whose credits include Snow Patrol and El Presidente, the single represented the start-up spirit that shaped Horus Music in its earliest days. From those beginnings as a small independent label, Horus Music has grown into a global music distribution, publishing and artist services company. Horus Music's Label Services Manager Bethany Dyson recently attended HowTheLightGetsIn Festival London 2026, representing the company across a weekend that brought together music, philosophy, science, comedy, politics and the arts. It was a valuable opportunity to support independent talent, reconnect with industry contacts and meet more of the people contributing to the UK’s creative community. A special thank you goes to lorraine solomons and Success Express Music. Horus Music first met Lorraine through a show she organised for Artist & Label Services artist Tihane. This year marked her second time hosting The People’s Parlour stage at the festival. Horus Music artist Rose White performed across both days and hosted a songwriting circle alongside five other artists, including the company’s brand-new signing, Jide Kuti. Bethany also enjoyed excellent performances from Jem Wax, Si Connelly and Jessica Beth, who each made a strong impression across the weekend. Thank you to the HowTheLightGetsIn team, the artists and everyone Bethany had the opportunity to meet.
