The free support programme helps start-ups and scale-ups accelerate growth through access to legal resources, expert guidance and investor insights. We were honoured to welcome His Majesty The King to Aberdeen today to mark the official opening of ETZ EnergyWorks. The £10 million facility is the UK’s first dedicated low carbon energy incubator and scale-up hub, created to help early-stage companies develop new technologies and turn them into commercial opportunities. During his visit, His Majesty met some of the first businesses based at EnergyWorks and heard about the technologies they are developing across the energy sector. EnergyWorks builds on the strengths that have made North East Scotland a global hub of energy excellence for more than 50 years: its people, its supply chain and its capacity for innovation. Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland have spent decades building the skills, supply chains and infrastructure that have made this region a global energy powerhouse.   ‘Aberdeen - Europe’s Capital of Energy Excellence’ - published in the The Press and Journal, produced by True North Advisors, and with a foreword from our CEO Maggie McGinlay - showcases that capability perfectly.   From offshore wind and hydrogen to decommissioning, carbon capture, electricity networks and new digital industries, the North East is entering another period of significant industrial change. We had a great day clearing and maintaining the local path network at Tullos Hill with volunteers from ETZ Ltd, CHAP, DNOW and Sport Aberdeen.
