Thunder Force III side-scrolling shoot 'em up game developed by Technosoft for the Sega Genesis in 1990. It is the third entry in the Thunder Force series. The notable change is the removal of top-down shooter stages from two previous games, and replaced them with side-scrolling shooter stages.
Thunder Force III's story is set about 100 years after Thunder Force, and directly after Thunder Force II. ORN empire installed cloaking devices in five planets and made a remote defense system named Cerberus to protect ORN empire from various assaults. As a response, Galaxy Federation deploys FIRE LEO-03 Styx on a mission to destroy five cloaking devices.
