We’re looking for a new Legal Analyst/Associate.

About the role

We’re looking for a resourceful, energetic person to join our team and support our legal work. Our legal team is small and our ambitions are big, which means real ownership from very early on. You’ll interact with our founders and work alongside top-tier law firms, carrying Seedcamp’s DNA into every interaction.

Our founders have built some of the most exciting companies in the ecosystem. You’ll have the opportunity to learn how the people reshaping entire industries think and witness in real time as they change the European tech landscape.

No two days are the same here. The variety is huge, the pace is fast, and boredom isn’t part of the role. We have a strong culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration, we’ll be here to support you and we’re committed to helping you grow into a top-tier VC legal professional. 

Scope wise, you can expect to do the following in a given week :

• Review and negotiate documents related to our portfolio companies, from simple resolutions to investment documents and M&As.
• Build, improve and maintain our legal tech tools in coordination with our Tech team, including AI agents. Support the adoption of new tools. 
• Assess and build spreadsheets, including cap table and waterfall.
• Own legal and compliance matters of our funds, such as KYC/AML, partner transfers and asset registers.
• Align with our external partners, including legal partners, fund manager and others. 
• Lead in project management of our Legal and compliance processes, as well as in admin related tasks. 
• Maintain Legal/compliance databases, trackers and reports up to date. 
• Work very closely with our 1st-class Investment and Finance teams.

This is a London-based role in our London office. Our working pattern is Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the office every week, and more days are encouraged. 

About you

We’re looking for someone who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and put in the work, excited to use technology to work smarter and faster, but who understands that the real value lies in building strong relationships with our founders and partners.

• You bring a legal background in venture capital, M&A, corporate law, or experience in a fund or in-house at a startup.  Ideally qualified to practise in England and Wales. 
• You are excited about AI and feel at ease using it to boost your efficiency. 
• You are not intimidated by a spreadsheet and you are comfortable with building or reviewing cap tables/waterfalls.
• You are a proactive problem-solver who can think independently and take initiative.
• You are comfortable making decisions under complex or uncertain situations.  
• You have an incredible attention to detail.
• You are good with relationships and can hold challenging conversations and push back when needed with a collaborative approach.
• You’re low-ego enough to take on with a positive attitude different tasks, from admin matters to complex transactions. 
• You enjoy working in a team.
