EquiLibre operates at the intersection of AI and finance - using self-learning AI agents to trade on the world's largest financial markets. ♠️ Founded by former DeepMind researchers - Martin Schmid, Rudolf Kadlec, and Matej Moravcik - EquiLibre stems from an experiment to see whether AI could beat the world's best at no-limit poker. Using AI to beat humans at chess (a game of perfect information) had already been solved, but poker is far more complex (a game of imperfect information). The secret to solving this was reinforcement learning. ♦️ The magic of reinforcement learning is that nobody teaches the AI what to do. There's no instruction guide, no expert sitting down inputting a strategy. You show it what winning looks like, and let it figure out the rest on its own; through trial and error, and probabilistic learning, the result is a mix of strategies and game-theoretic approaches no human would ever think to try. ♣️ Markets are the ultimate exercise in imperfect information: messy, fast-moving, and full of other players constantly changing their behaviour. There's no fixed way of playing that guarantees a win. So like a poker player who can't always bet the same way with the same hand, EquiLibre's agents develop mixed strategies - ever-shifting probabilistic approaches that keep them unpredictable and hard to exploit. If you are a small brand, creating video for every product, launch, collection, PDP, ad, and social post is just not realistic. So most product videos never get made. Lots of brands already use AI for product photography, but video is hard. Why? 🤔 The models are powerful, but using them well is still pretty complicated if you're just trying to launch your bag, shoe, serum, glasses, jacket, or new collection. So we packaged everything we have learned about using AI video for product videos into Video Presets. You add your own product, or a whole collection / outfit, pick a style, choose a motion preset, and generate. It makes product video creation very fast, very visual, and honestly much more playful. Freda is an agentic compliance operating system that discovers, builds, and runs compliance for you. Over the past decades software transformed many parts of running a business (e.g., sales, finance, HR) but compliance stayed manual. It got stuck in spreadsheets, reports, and folders because it was too vast, too dynamic, and too tied to written language for old software to handle. AI is (finally!) changing that. Daniel Kjellén, Fredrik Hedberg, Adam Ivarsson, Amanda Hultman, Ruben Das and the rest of the Freda crew have built a fantastic product to bring to our customers, and a great culture to be part of. Very excited to keep building the future of compliance with this team over many years to come (now there's a sentence I wasn't expecting I'd write a few months ago). Hundreds of founder calls later, I had never encountered a vision as big, nor a founding team as relentless. So I somehow convinced them to let me join instead. Today we are launching Freda - the most ambitious compliance project ever. We have spent the last year doing the hard stuff: decoding millions of pages of regulatory text and legal hierarchies, structuring company knowledge graphs, and building an advanced agentic platform. All of this, so no company has to choose between moving fast and staying compliant. As an investor, I spent years watching founders solve the hardest, most critical problems, just to be held back by regulatory complexity and paperwork. Under the hood, Freda is building two models. A regulatory engine that maps every directive, law, technical standard, authority guideline, compliance framework and commercial contractual obligation. And a company knowledge-graph, built from the systems and data your company already runs on. Mapping one against the other, Freda's agents establish from first principles exactly what applies - and build and run full compliance programs bespoke to the business on our agentic platform. This is the first step towards a true operating system for organizations, in any domain and any market. In our 2026 State of Scaling report, we highlighted the company’s climb from $1M to $100M ARR in just 18 months. The next $100M came in less than six. In the time since we partnered with Max Junestrand, Sigge Labor, and the team a year and a half ago at their Series B, Legora has expanded at a remarkable pace. Today, 130,000 lawyers use the platform every month across 2,100 firms and legal teams in more than 80 countries. That growth has taken on a global dimension. When we met the team, Legora had only just opened its first North American office. Today, the US is its largest market by revenue, and more than half of the AmLaw 50 use the platform. The customer base has broadened significantly along the way. In Q3, more than 40% of new business came from in-house legal teams, including Air Canada, Salesforce, and Palo Alto Networks. Two years ago, that segment barely registered in the pipeline. It has been a privilege to watch Max, Sigge, and the team build with this level of speed and rigor.
