Souls Wander

Souls Wander is an action hack-and-slash game with a dark, atmospheric horror theme, blending fast-paced combat with a narrative-driven journey through a tainted world.

In a world where tainted souls freely roam the land, a group of individuals has risen to fight them. They are known as the Soul Hunters. 

Rumors speak of an incredibly powerful soul residing on a remote island, known as The Dual Wielder. A nameless hunter travels to the island to hunt him down, and along the way, meets a ghost of a young boy who decides to help him on his journey.

The game offers around 20 minutes of gameplay, featuring 4 areas, 6 cutscenes, and 1 boss battle.
You can also choose to skip combat, avoid every enemy, and reach the boss to finish the game in just 5 minutes.

Souls Wander was developed for a game jam and is currently unfinished.
There is no confirmation regarding future development or completion.

Use [MMB] to lock onto the nearest enemy within range.
Press [LMB] to perform a slash, or press repeatedly to unleash a 3-hit combo.
Each strike deals increasing damage and weight — the third hit being the heaviest.
Enemies differ in how much weight is needed to stagger them.
A staggered enemy is knocked back and will skip their attack.

Movement

• Move: WASD

• Run: Hold Shift

• Dash: Space

Combat

• Attack: LMB (press repeatedly for a 3-hit combo)

• Lock Target: Middle Mouse Button

Camera

• Rotate Camera: Move Mouse

• Adjust Distance: Mouse Scroll

The game currently features one boss. If you’re having trouble defeating him, this guide explains his behavior:

The boss uses 3 main attacks and can only be staggered by the third hit of your combo. When his health drops to certain points, he will change his attack pattern, for a total of four phases during the fight. In his final phase, carefully time when to engage and disengage, or you’ll end up getting stunned often.

⚠️ Important Note

When starting the game for the first time, some assets may not load properly.
If you experience issues with textures, environment shading, or performance delays, press [ESC] and select Restart to reload the game. In rare cases (except during the boss fight scene), the player may clip through the ground and fall out of the map. If this happens, please restart the game as well.
