Concerns about the safety of statins remain one of the main reasons patients interrupt treatment and a question that continues to raise doubts in clinical practice. A new umbrella review, authored by members of Tecnimede Group's Medical Department and published in European Cardiology Review, brings together the findings of 72 systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Overall, the safety profile of the class remains favourable, but the review also shows that statins are not interchangeable.
