Description

SCREWDRIVER WITH A RESERVOIR OF FRICTION FLUID FOR REMOVING
DAMAGED SCREWS
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The present invention falls within the technical field of tools, in particular, screwdrivers. More specifically, the object of the invention relates to a device for removing screws and bolts that have slots or edges of the head that are damaged or worn out. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Screws are very common in manufacturing and assembling different types of devices. In general, there are slots in the head of the screw that are arranged in different shapes, the most common being transversal or cross shapes. In these slots, the blade of the screwdriver is coupled in order to be able to rotate it and thus tighten or loosen said screw. Frequently, these slots suffer from wear or damage or are deformed, for which reason the screw does not accept the blade which makes it difficult to rotate, causing a device to not be able to be assembled or disassembled.
Document US617661 which discloses a modified screwdriver for removing damaged screws, wherein the blade is modified with sharpened projections, which grip the head of the screw when the handle makes impact, creating support points that enable the tool to be rotated, is known from the state of the art. In this way the screw can be taken out.
Document US6978697 which discloses a tool that is coupled to an electric drill that has sharpened and blunted projections is also known. The sharpened projections create support points and the blunted ones help rotate the screw to be able to loosen and remove it.
Likewise, document US4668315 which discloses a tool that has two parts, a tubular exterior that is wider than the screw with which it will be used, which grips the head of said screw, and another part that perforates the head of the screw in order to create a support point to make it rotate and be able to remove it, is known.
These known solutions for removing damaged screws have cutting surfaces with complex shapes, however, they also need pressure or devices like an electric drill to be able to work. Due to this, they are not recommended for use in devices such as portable computers, tablets and cellphones, since they can cause damage to them. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention proposes a screwdriver with a reservoir of friction fluid for removing damaged screws. The objective of the present invention is to provide a tool that is easy to manufacture and highly effective for removing damaged screws.
Another object of the present invention is to enable the removal of the damaged screws without needing to cut or destroy them. To do so, the screwdriver uses a fluid which increases the friction, without needing to use pressure or external devices such as drills. Thus the screwdriver can be used to work in devices such as portable computers, tablets and cellphones.
The screwdriver of the invention comprises a central handle and a blade such that it has an appearance similar to that of a traditional screwdriver. A differentiating characteristic is that it comprises, in the central body thereof, a cavity or reservoir in which fluid with high friction is stored. It likewise comprises a pump configured to pump the fluid from the cavity.
The blade of the screwdriver is preferably made of metal. Said blade is joined by an end to the central body and the other end thereof is an adaptable end configured to be coupled to a screwdriver bit. The screwdriver bit is interchangeable so that the user can select the most suitable one based on the type of screw with which they want to work.
There is a first duct in the blade and a second duct in the interchangeable screwdriver bit. Both are connected to each other and the first duct is further connected to the cavity such that the fluid that is in the cavity and that is pumped by the pump passes through the first duct to the second duct from which it exits to the outside of the screwdriver.
In order to use the screwdriver the user places the interchangeable screwdriver bit approximately in the center of the slot of the screw and subsequently applies pressure to the pump so that the high-friction liquid flows from the cavity. When the fluid exits from the screwdriver bit, they wait for said fluid to harden, axial pressure is applied and the screw is made to turn. DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
As a complement to the description provided herein, and for the purpose of helping to make the characteristics of the invention more readily understandable, in accordance with a preferred practical exemplary embodiment thereof, said description is accompanied by a set of drawings constituting an integral part of the same, which by way of illustration and not limitation represents the following:
Figure 1 shows a view of the screwdriver with a reservoir of friction fluid for removing damaged screws. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with the help of Figure 1 .
In said Figure 1 , the screwdriver with a reservoir of friction fluid for removing damaged screws can be seen. It comprises a central body (3) which is the handle that the user grips in order to rotate the screwdriver and it comprises a cover (1 ) corresponding to an upper opening. It likewise comprises a pump (2) in the cover (1 ) configured to make a high-friction fluid circulate in the screwdriver. The use of fluid aims to reduce the force necessary to remove the screw.
The central body (3) is preferably made of or covered with a high-resistance material that is able to withstand impacts. In an exemplary embodiment it can be made of plastic, rubber, wood or other protective materials. Inside the central body (3) there is a cavity (4) intended to be filled with a high-friction fluid.
The screwdriver likewise comprises a blade (5) made of metal or a hard and resistant material. In the center of the blade there is a first duct that is connected to the cavity (4) of the central body (3) through which the fluid passes. The cross section of the blade (5) has a geometrical cross section with a shape that favors the optimization of energy in order to rotate it on the axis thereof. In a preferred embodiment the cross section is round or hexagonal. The blade (5) comprises an adaptable end (6) configured to be coupled to a plurality of screwdriver bits (7).
The shape of the screwdriver bit depends on the type of screw for which it is intended, being able to have a star-shaped or flat shape, among others. Said screwdriver bits comprise a second inner through duct through which the fluid passes from the first duct towards the outside.
