Abstract

A method and system are provided for allocating, partitioning, and managing identifiers, such as circuit identification codes (CICs) (Fig. 2, item 206), across multiple call processing entities (Fig. 3, items 112, 114) in a network node (Fig. 2, item 204) having a distributed architecture.
