Abstract

Selon l'invention, un centre de données (14) reçoit une demande (22) de contenu d'un client (11) suite à une exploration (12), et détermine si le contenu demandé est disponible au niveau du centre de données. Le contenu est disponible lorsqu'il est à la fois présent dans le centre de données et accessible. Le contenu peut être périmé et signalé indisponible en réponse à une commande d'expiration (24). Lorsque le contenu demandé est disponible au niveau du centre de données, celui-ci le renvoie au centre. Lorsque le contenu demandé est indisponible localement au niveau du centre de données, il est extrait d'un serveur de départ (18). L'extraction du contenu du serveur de départ peut être retardée en fonction de la charge de traitement au niveau du serveur de départ. Lorsque l'extraction du contenu est retardée, la demande est placée dans une file d'attente prioritaire pour être traitée par le serveur de départ en fonction de son statut prioritaire. De même, lorsque l'extraction du contenu est retardée, une page d'état peut être communiquée au navigateur afin d'informer un utilisateur de ce retard et lui proposer un contenu de remplacement (139), et une information d'état relative à la demande est déterminée, selon la demande ou l'état courant du serveur de départ.
