Abstract

The invention relates to a device for optically machine-readable contrast images such as bar codes. According to the invention, a memory for storing the contrast image or a piece of information contained therein is allocated to said device which is provided with a release button for releasing the reading process. The inventive device is provided with a circuit that can be activated by means of a second actuation of the button and that releases the storage of the scanned information.
