citizen of the United States, residing at Latte, in the county of Marion and State oi. South Carolina, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Signs; and i do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in signs, and more particularly in devices whereby signs may be supported in such manner that the nails, screws or other suitable fastening devices will be hidden from the View of the observer.

The object of this invention is to improve and simplify devices of this character, rendering them comparatively simple and inexpensive to manufacture, reliable and cili cient in use and readily operated.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

The combination with a sign, spring clips thereof, the said clips being provided ,with key-hole slots adapted to removably support the head of suitable fastening devices, the edges of the said slots being bent toward the sign and adapted to bear yieldingly against the heads of the fastening devices and force the same into engagement with the adjacent face of the sign, whereby the said fastening devices may be driven ii -toe suitable support, by striking upon the opposite face of the sign, without marring or otherwise injuring the same.
