One of the biggest takeaways from the recent PNZ Classifiers Forum was the value of collaboration across Para sport. Bringing together 21 classifiers from 14 different sports highlighted that while each sport faces unique challenges, many of the underlying issues are shared. Open discussions around safeguarding, disability inclusion, medical reviews, classification protests, and preparing athletes for international classification reinforced the importance of learning from one another and sharing best practice. The forum also showcased how effective classification systems can be developed and delivered, even within smaller and less-resourced organisations. A valuable reminder that progress often comes from connection, shared knowledge, and a collective commitment to raising standards across the sector.
