AI has never been easier to use for research. Asking it a good question is still the hard part. Only 36% of New Zealand SMEs are using AI, a figure that falls to 30% among the smallest firms. Access is not what is holding the rest back. Everyone can buy the same tools for the price of a couple of coffees. What separates the businesses getting something out of AI is the question they walk in with. Ask it what is in a year of customer emails and you get a summary nobody acts on. Ask it what customers keep raising about one product line and you get something the next sales meeting can use. Our Insights Partner Simon Taylor has written on where the real work now sits. The inbox nobody has ever analysed. The competitor set nobody has ever mapped. The gut feel nobody has ever tested. Three questions before any of it. Who will act on this? What decision does it inform? What would a useful answer look like? AI has not lowered the bar for insight. It has removed the excuse for not doing it. After a strong season supported by favourable growing conditions and robust commodity prices, many farmers are now asking: “Is my balance sheet working hard enough?” This edition of AgriPulse looks at the factors driving confidence across the primary sector, from strong market returns to emerging agritech opportunities, and what businesses can do now to prepare for the season ahead. https://lnkd.in/gnTPEFtf

Awesome to see Chloe Dallaway-Walker and Precision Farming getting some well-deserved airtime - from CountryWide through to Farmers Weekly, Rural News and REX. A good reminder of the real impact agtech is having out in the field. Couldn’t have done it without Rebecca Greaves working her PR magic behind the scenes.
Not every conversation about a merger includes shortbread… but this one does. We sat down with CountryWide Media to talk through the Precision Farming + NuPoint journey - what it actually means for farmers, where we’re heading, and the reality behind bringing two platforms together. Watch it here (49:18 start) https://lnkd.in/e6uT4fir

We’re excited to welcome Rebecca Greaves to the Tracta team! Rebecca, or Becs as we call her, is an award-winning journalist and sheep and beef farmer based in Pongaroa in the Tararua district, where she farms with her husband Richard and daughter Phoebe. She’s spent much of her career telling the stories of rural New Zealand, including time as editor of NZ Farmers Weekly and Country-Wide magazine, and co-hosting the Rural Exchange (REX) radio show. Alongside this, Becs runs Target PR, creating editorial and marketing content across the agriculture and equestrian sectors. With both boots on the ground and years in rural media, she has a real knack for turning complex topics into stories everyday farmers can actually relate to. Welcome to the team, Becs - we’re stoked to have you on board!

Confidence is building across New Zealand’s primary sector. A $9 milk price forecast, strong sheep and beef schedules, and improving horticulture returns are giving farmers breathing room while supporting renewed investment in productivity and technology. In the latest AgriPulse with AgFirst NZ, we unpack what these signals mean for the season ahead. https://lnkd.in/eC7hSUnF

Loved having our Dutch friends on the ground with us in NZ!
There is nothing better than seeing with your own eyes how Nedap improves life on the farm. Rudy Ebbekink and I were in New Zealand for the past 2 weeks. We had good conversations and fun with the Nedap NZ team and the nice people of Tracta - Agrimarketing agency. We visited the Taranaki Tech and Southern Fieldays fairs for a glimpse into New Zealand agriculture with over 5 million dairy cows. It was wonderful to see the Nedap cow monitoring technology in practice with three farmers with between 260 and 1,000 dairy cows (stay tuned for the videos). It’s good to hear that Nedap's hardware and software work flawlessly and intuitively. Kia ora New Zealand! But after a 24 hour flight it’s good to be home (-;

Starting the year off with a roadie down south. A good day in Oamaru with Howler filming some great stories. Watch this space!
We were lucky to start 2026 with a shoot down south in Oamaru. 🎥 Here's a sneak peak behind the scenes of our day filming on the farm. We love travelling for work and getting the chance to tell stories from different parts of Aotearoa. This was for an upcoming campaign of mini-documentary pieces and we're excited to share more soon! Such a cool project to bring to life and kick start our year with our mates at Tracta - Agrimarketing agency Check it out 👇

Meet Tracta - Agrimarketing agency. They grow agri-brands for a changing world and they are world class at it. Their head office is in Hawke's Bay, NZ with an impressive client list across New Zealand and Australia. Since May 2024, they've been measuring their carbon footprint and funding native trees in their local communities. The results? 🌳 1,832 native trees funded 🌳 Certified Positive business status 🌳 Team Planting Action day where they traded laptops and whiteboards for shovels and planted trees themselves This is what meaningful climate action looks like for a busy agency. They're not just talking about it. They're tracking it, funding it, and getting their hands dirty planting it! Congrats to the Tracta team on the progress - and on showing other businesses what's possible. Check out the video they made below and their Positive Profile here: https://lnkd.in/eXRTdrua
By working with CarbonInvoice™ we track the carbon created by our work everyday, then offset it through native planting projects in our Hawke’s Bay community. Since May 2024, we’ve funded 1,832 native trees and even traded our laptops for shovels to get out there and plant some ourselves! We’re proud to be a Certified Positive business, supporting Aotearoa’s biodiversity, one tree at a time. #CertifiedPositive #CarbonInvoice #NativePlanting #HawkesBay

Confidence remains strong across the primary sector, but this quarter’s AgriPulse shows the real story is discipline over indulgence. High milk prices, record-setting sheep and beef schedules and improving horticulture returns are giving farmers some breathing room, but the focus is squarely on resilience, ROI and rebuilding the balance sheet. Dive into this quarter’s AgFirst NZ insights and see what’s shaping farmer mindset – and where the real opportunities lie for agribrands right now. #agripulse #agrimarketing #agribusiness #agritech #nzfarming https://hubs.ly/Q03WcThH0
