Six Robotics

The Norwegian Army is building a capability that lets a unit see further and strike faster than its size would suggest. We are building it with them. We built this film the way we build the system, with the people who use it. Norway buys its drones from several manufacturers. The work lies in making them act as one force, and in changing that force as fast as the threat does. Armies command their people through battle management systems. Their machines need the same kind of layer. That is the layer we build. A robotic management system that lets soldiers task reconnaissance and strike as one capability, whichever airframes they carry, with a human making the critical decisions. A capability like this has to belong to whichever nation fields it. When the first swarm was handed over, Colonel Kai Solem, who leads unmanned systems in the Norwegian Army, said that swarm technology gives each operator more eyes and more effectors, and that a higher degree of autonomy will be the great force multiplier regardless of domain.

We are force multipliers. It's a principle everyone here upholds. On the platform team, it's the mandate. We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Developer Experience) to strengthen our platform team. We build the internal platform: the tooling, CI/CD, and infrastructure that our engineering organization runs on every day. Our software goes from lab to live deployment fast, and how quickly we can adapt is part of succeeding on our mission. This role is about designing the systems and standards that let us keep that speed without cutting corners. You'll work directly with engineers across teams, find where they lose time, and fix it. Ole Jørgen Seeland is stepping into the role of Chief Product Officer at Six Robotics. Since joining Six Robotics, OJ has built and led our Product function, turning operational needs into autonomous capabilities that are now deployed in the field. Before Six Robotics, he led the development of the Black Hornet 4 at Teledyne FLIR and founded the autonomous drone company Staaker. Building autonomy that works in the real world starts with understanding the operators who rely on it. As Chief Product Officer, OJ will lead product strategy and execution as we continue to scale our autonomy platform and expand our product portfolio. Congratulations, OJ!

Autonomy from day one. This summer, five engineering students have joined Six Robotics to take on a real engineering challenge. From day one, they've been designing, building, testing, and iterating on hardware and software, taking their work out into the field rather than keeping it in simulation. At Six Robotics, summer interns aren't here to just observe. They're here to contribute. "The best part was that we worked on something the company can actually use. We weren't just given small tasks to stay busy. We build software that makes many systems act as one. A few weeks ago, we got the whole company in one room to do the same at our first company off-site. From five people to nearly 80 in less than two years, taking time to align, learn from each other, and strengthen the team has never been more important. Building the future of autonomous defence technology isn't easy. It takes talented people, trust, and a shared commitment to the mission.
