The amended AIF Regulations were notified today activating the LVF related relaxations. Key amendments which are now effective: - Concept of accredited investors (AI) only fund introduced - Considering that only accredited investors can participate in an AI only fund, various relaxations and benefits have been provided for this type of AIF; - INR 70 crores per investor threshold for large value fund for accredited investors (LVF for AIs) has been reduced to INR 25 crores - This is likely to result in more adoption of LVFs for AIs. - An AIF satisfying the requirements of a large value fund for accredited investors can be converted to an LVF for AI.

What does "examination ready" actually mean? Not what we tell ourselves, but what it actually requires. Examination ready means every reference and process verified and current. Not auto carried over from last year but actually checked. It means jurisdiction-specific requirements properly reflected, not a UK template adapted for the UAE. There should be a clear audit trail showing how the document was produced and reviewed. Now honestly, does your team's process consistently produce that standard? For under resourced teams, not always. For the Head of Compliance signing off on 30-page policies, when was the last time you verified every citation and reference before approving? Not because anyone's careless but because the day-to-day of the modern compliance practitioner doesn't allow time. We've accepted this.
