8/26/2026: I'm starting to research for an upcoming car purchase, and it makes me irrationally annoyed that almost every car available is just white, black, grey/silver, or red. It's not like I'm not a walking rainbow or anything, but why are modern car colors so boring!?

8/25/2026: I tried going to Taco Bell, and they were out of TORTILLAS. Of all the basic things. (And I know this isn't how it works, but they share a parking lot with Walmart and are just across the street from Safeway. Sigh.)

8/24/2026: I may not know how to play chess, but I can efficiently navigate a town with a plethora of one way streets and a lot of ongoing road construction. So at least I have that going for me.

8/23/2026: I am on track to finish three separate zines this month. Even I feel like that's too many zines. I have certainly put my printer through its paces.

8/21/2026: I think my life just flashed before my eyes. I was working at my craft desk and thought I felt something crawling on my leg. I swatted it away, and looked down to see a yellowjacket. Thankfully I stunned it enough that it didn't sting me. I may or may not have vacuumed it up in my vacuum because I was too afraid to kill it otherwise.

8/2/2026: I've spent most of the weekend puttering around my house, and it's glorious. I enjoy puttering so much.

7/27/2026: I just got an e-mail that I got accepted to table at the Portland Zine Symposium in October, so I'm a happy ducky. Now I've actually got to put all my tabling stuff together...

7/20/2026: The wildfire smoke is really bad today where I live, so I somehow got an Air Quality Day off work? As dystopian as this feels, at least now I have time to catch up on laundry while chilling here in my N95 mask at home.

7/19/2026: I hate how addictive smartphones are. I don't even carry one regularly anymore, but I still own the older one I switched from. And despite the fact I don't carry it often, it's still so hard to put down when I do need to get it for something. I kinda want to throw it into the sun.

7/17/2026: I truly hate hanging things on the walls because I am not a fan of ladders & heights. But... I'm actually getting some more things hung up in my craft room!

7/14/2026: I have a new craft desk, and it is majestic! I might have to write a blog post about it or something.

7/10/2026: Thankfully I was fortunate enough to find a parking spot near my apartment, since there's a sizeable music fest in town this weekend and town is busy. Otherwise, I've spent my evening preparing my craft room for a new desk, and my apartment is literally made of dust. There's so much!

7/9/2026: I have obtained most of my drawer organizers... Now I just need the drawers for them to go in. (And is the cart before the horse here? Maybe.).

7/8/2026: I've officially decided to get a new desk for my craft room. And as excited as I am for the desk, I think I'm more excited for th excuse to buy drawer organizers. Buying storage containers is one of my true life joys.

7/7/2026: There was a power outage in town today due to a field fire, and I received two phone calls, two text messages, two e-mails from the power company, one e-mail from my land lord, and one e-mail from Next Door that it was out. And it was already back up by the time I got home. Whereupon I received another phone call, text message, and e-mail from the power company. I guess I can't say they didn't notify me.

7/4/2026: I'm considering replacing my craft table/desk with a larger corner desk. I feel bad getting rid of a couple perfectly good furniture pieces to do it, though.

6/30/2026: I heard a story on NPR today about Britain's Arsenal Football/Soccer team donating their used shin guard socks to an equine sanctuary. So the donkeys there are now wearing used socks to protect their legs from fly bites. And that's simply a delightful mental image: donkeys in socks.

6/29/2026: I've reached the age where the grocery store rearranging all the shelves is quite honestly enough to ruin my entire week. I had to ask where to find the bread.

6/28/2026: I have been experimenting with making stickers lately, and I think I've acidentally turned into a bit of a machine. I've made at least 600 of them this weekend... But I'm having fun. That's all that matters, right?

6/15/2026: I feel like I've been a bit of a zine-making machine lately. I've finished four zines this year and I'm already starting on a fifth! I'm glad my creative desires are back from their gap year.

5/24/2026: My check engine light came on. It's not a big deal, I'll take my car to the mechanic on Tuesday when they're open. And while I logically know it's not a big deal, try telling that to my nervous system. It's convinced the world's ending.

5/16/2026: Earlier today I saw a Reel where someone figured out you can print on paper towel. Like, the kind that comes in a roll that you clean messes up with. I tried it, and it actually frickin works. It's so absurd that I can't stop laughing.

4/24/2026: I went downstairs to clean my car out a bit, and had a big bag of things to bring back up to my apartment. Of course that's the moment the elevator decides to jam on the fourth floor... My life is so hard. (Kidding.)

3/28/2026: I had a taquito from a gas station today for the first time, and it was okay. I've never eaten anything from those gas station rolling warmers before, so it feels remarkable. I also had a lovely time at the Reed Zine Fest at Reed College.

3/22/2026: I just realized my favorite Casio watch went through the washing machine and dryer in the pocket of one of my skirts. And it's still working like nothing happened! How that for a 5-star review?

3/22/2026: I have had the loveliest little productive craft-filled weekend. But I do want my Cricut machine to go kindly die in a fire. This machine is so frustrating!

3/12/2026: I entered a couple photos I've taken into a regional photo exhibition at my local arts center. I went to the show opening this evening, and one of my photos won second prize in the adult category! I am a little proud of myself!

3/6/2026: I made some flag bunting for my apartment today to dip my toes back into crafting a bit, and it turned out so good! I also got to use a bias tape maker I found at a thrift store this last summer for $5, and it worked like a dream!

3/4/2026: I had the idea to make a large magnetic cutting mat for my card table out of a thin piece of sheet metal and a bunch of flexible cutting boards taped together. I ended up adding a hardboard backer to it, but it actually works! I am quite pleased with myself.

3/3/2026: My mattress was finally delivered today, and I am so very excited! I truly have had the best little weekend full of coffee, thrift stores, reading, catching up on some housework, and just generally chilling.

2/25/2026: The sun finally came out today and the sky was blue. So of course I had to go get a McDonald's iced tea and drive the back roads home from work. It was 110% worth it.

2/24/2026: I made ham and beans for dinner last Friday, but I made way too much. Thankfully I only have one more meal of it left!

2/14/2026: There are five women (including myself) at the coffee shop I'm at who are all wearing red, long-sleeved t-shirts, blue jeans, and black shoes. That was way cooler before someone pointed out to me that it's Valentine's Day,and I guess people wear red for that?

2/14/2026: I'm not a confrontation person, but I just asked for a partial refund for something under a company's price match guarantee. And I was successful! I feel extra adult today.

2/4/2026: Today at work, someone called and asked me if their new septic system pump needs to be "explosion proof." I can't say I've ever fielded that question before. Sometimes, I'm not mature enough for my job.
(The boring electrical code answer was that it doesn't need to be for their particular situation).

2/3/2026: You know the TikTok of the guy who always buys a bottle of hoisin sauce at the store only to come home and find he has, like, five or six because he always buys one? My version of that is canned black beans. Well, in a shocking turn of events, I ran out! I actually need to buy more.

2/2/2026: I think I've reached peak weekday evening as an adult. After work, I picked up my hold from the public library, and proceeded to go to a cafe and read for a bit. I went home and made an excellent fajita rice bowl for dinner. Then I lit a candle, curled up in my favorite chair, and finished the whole rest of the book. I hadn't a care in the world. And I was still in bed by 9:30 p.m.!

1/31/2026: I actually left the house today for something other than work. I turned in my Winter Reading Program bookmarks at the public library, and I am pretty pleased with myself. I did forget to grab the hold I had available, though.

1/27/2026: Usually when I choose something because I think I'll like it, I end up not liking it. (Like a book or a class.) I think it's because I'm choosing something for the person I think I should be, rather than the person I am.

10/28/2025: This week, I've learned not to eat green potatoes because they're toxic. Also, 'semiannual' and 'biannual' mean the same thing. 'Biennial' is the one that means every other year.
