Lignin Singularity
> SYSTEM.BOOT // PHASE_1_INITIATED...
The star is dying. The surface is sterile. You are the Seed.
The Lignin Singularity is an unfolding incremental strategy game inspired by Universal Paperclips and the biological horror of deep time. You do not play as a gardener; you play as a biological imperative. Your directive is simple: Do not wither.
In this Phase 1 Prototype, you must guide a single taproot down through the geological history of a dead world. Manage your water levels against the constant threat of transpiration, trade chemicals with ancient fungal networks, and evolve your cellular structure to pierce bedrock.
// THE DESCENT
Navigate a procedurally generated soil grid across 4 distinct stratigraphies, each with unique hazards and resources:
- DEPTH 1: The Humus. The remnants of the old world. Easy soil, scarce water. Survive the surface.
- DEPTH 2: The Necrosphere. A fossilized graveyard of ancient forests. Harvest their carbon.
- DEPTH 3: The Iron Crust. The planet’s rusted armor. Metal is dense, and water is a memory. You will need drills.
- DEPTH 4: The Core Interface. Photosynthesis fails here. Adapt to feed on the heat of the planet itself.
// FEATURES
- Survival Incremental: This is not an idle game where you can look away. Your water decays every second. Efficiency is survival.
- The Wood Wide Web: Encounter mycelial nodes and negotiate chemical trades to fuel your expansion.
- Biological Tech Tree: Evolve hardened cell walls, enzymatic drills, and geothermal siphons.
- Atmospheric Lo-Fi Aesthetic: A minimalist UI designed to feel like a command terminal for a planetary organism.
> DEVELOPER NOTES
This build represents Phase 1 (The Substrate) of a planned multi-phase cosmic journey.
- Current State: Playable from Surface to Core.
- Playtime: ~15-20 Minutes.
- Goal: Reach the Planetary Core to trigger the Singularity.
Will you become the bridge between the dying star and the living earth?

ok so I just beat it. ignoring the strange bug where the webpage scrolled down if I ran over anytile that was not a rock mushroom or water tile. the biggest problem the game has is lack of content. I left for 10 min to do something traded a bunch of sugar of minerals got upgrades and went down with little problems. lack of content and difficulty
Thank you for playing it all! You’re definitely right about the content. it’s still very early days for this project, so there is a lot more on the way to fix the pacing and difficulty. I also looked into that scrolling bug you mentioned and fixed it. Thanks for the report!
for some reason each time I collect something the webpage scrolls down
Thank you for playing the game!
I just got around to fixing the bug, sorry you have experienced it, it was annoying as hell I agree.
Give it another try when you can please!
