About the editor

Dr. Narmada P. Gupta is currently working as Professor Emeritus in the urology department at Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon. He has published over 320 scientific papers in various national and international journals, contributed several book chapters, and produced 18 teaching video films. He is also involved in training DNB graduates in Urology. Dr. Gupta is a pioneer and started several new urologic procedures in India, including endo-urology, laparoscopic surgery, and laser. He has performed more than 40,000 urological operations for BPH, carcinoma bladder, stricture urethra, endo-urology, microscopic surgery for male infertility, lasers, and prosthetic surgery. He was the first one to start Robotic surgery in India in 2006. He has performed and popularized robotic surgery for carcinoma prostate, carcinoma bladder, carcinoma kidney, and reconstructive surgery for a variety of urological diseases. He was conferred “Padma Shree” by the Government of India (2007) in recognition of his distinguished services in Urology to the nation.
