/Now

A /now page tells you what I'm up to at this point in my life; the stuff I'd mention if we haven't seen eachother in a few months. Mine is broken into ephemeral updates that I can quickly post to BlueSky using the #Now tag and longer updates that I will add to less frequently. Updates can be expected to be from the last four months, with the newest listed first.

Longer Updates

I’ve been doing a lot of coding lately — for work, personal projects, and projects for friends. I am maintaining two apps that I built from the ground up and two forks of free and open source projects. I would link to them but the links include my last name, which I’m no longer comfortable attaching to anything on the Internet where I may express an opinion.

It’s not impossible to find my last name if you’re properly motivated, but I’m trying not to include it willy-nilly. I have concerns about the surveillance state forming underneath us here in the United States. I tend to have opinions on things and a non-functioning filter at times.

In the last few months, I’ve either created or done ground-up redesigns of websites for creative projects that some of my closest friends are involved in. Check them out!

I’ve been so into coding lately that I’ve been listening to far fewer podcasts, playing far fewer video games, and watching far less television. I’ve been listening to a lot more music, which I’ll try to post on my blog from time to time.

I did watch Season 1 of Widow’s Bay with friends though, and that is incredibly good. Highly recommend if you love Parks & Rec style comedy mixed with Stephen King style horror tropes.

  2. Spent the last couple of days rewatching The Last Dance. Remains the greatest sports documentary series of all time. I may be biased because I was a huge Bulls fan when I was a kid and watched every single game mentioned in the doc, including the regular season games, in real time. #Now

  4. It's kind of crazy how improbable it was for me to be born at the perfect point in time to witness the convergence of technology and catastrophic climate change. Let's hope this is the simulation where the latter is solved by the former. #Now

  5. My cat is digging her claws into my leg to beg for hard-boiled eggs when we established that she doesn't like them three years ago, and every time that I've had hard-boiled eggs since then. She lives directly in the center of the dumb, cute, and annoying Venn diagram. #Now

  6. Anytime I sell stuff on eBay, I'm just so impressed with how good the USPS is. Cheap shipping, I can print the label, they'll send me free boxes, and then they'll come and just pick them up off of my porch for free? This is what the GOP is trying to destroy? The problem is that it's too good? #Now

  7. I took this week off because I like to stack long holiday weekends with PTO the following week, except I've just been coding all day anyway. Stoking that token bonfire and looking forward to watching USA and Belgium play tonight in the World Cup. #Now
