Air India’s New CEO Focuses on On-Time Performance and Customer Experience Air India’s new CEO, Tewolde Gebremariam, has told employees that the airline must prepare for both current and unforeseen challenges, while focusing on the basics such as on-time performance, customer experience and friendly service. Chairman N. Chandrasekaran said Gebremariam will have the authority to decide on changes to Air India’s fleet and network. He also acknowledged that the airline’s path to profitability could be delayed by around two years due to geopolitical and other challenges. Gebremariam has already flown on three Air India services since taking charge, including flights from Riyadh, Delhi and New York.
