FICCI, in association with the Andaman Nicobar Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ANCCI), organised an Export Awareness Workshop on the ATA Carnet and UN TIR systems at Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The workshop aimed to familiarise local industry and business stakeholders with these international trade facilitation instruments and highlight their potential benefits in facilitating international trade, improving logistics efficiency, and enhancing access to global markets.   While delivering the opening remarks, Dr. K. Chandra Sekharan, President, ANCCI, stated: “For a geographically remote territory like the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, efficient trade facilitation and robust logistics connectivity are extremely important. I appreciate FICCI for taking the initiative to bring this programme to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Such initiatives provide an important platform for industry stakeholders to understand trade facilitation measures, explore new opportunities, and strengthen linkages with national and international markets.”   Mr. Madan Lal, General Secretary, ANCCI, highlighted the potential of direct sea & air connectivity with neighbouring countries to unlock new opportunities in trade, tourism, maritime activities, fisheries & logistics. He emphasised the relevance of ATA Carnet & UN TIR in facilitating smoother movement of goods and preparing businesses for enhanced international connectivity.   Mr. P. S. Pruthi, Senior Consultant, FICCI and Former Member, Customs, Excise & Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT), highlighted the salient features and benefits of the ATA Carnet and UN TIR systems during his remarks. He further emphasised that these systems demonstrate how governments, national institutions, and international trade bodies can work collaboratively to address bottlenecks in international trade, streamline cross-border movement of goods, and promote a more efficient and mutually beneficial trading environment.

The fourth day of the FICCI Indian Industry Delegation at InnoTrans 2026 combined an official guided tour of the exhibition with focused B2B meetings, providing delegates with insights into emerging rail technologies and opportunities for business collaboration. InnoTrans Guided Tour: The delegation joined an official InnoTrans Guided Tour covering selected exhibitor booths showcasing advanced bogie and bearing technologies, condition monitoring and predictive maintenance solutions, and rail infrastructure systems. The tour also included an outdoor demonstration of overhead contact line (catenary) systems for electrified rail networks. Self-Organized B2B Meetings: Delegates also held focused B2B meetings with rail project and engineering consultancies and technology providers specialising in condition monitoring. Discussions covered project delivery, systems engineering, and potential technology partnerships relevant to India's growing rail and mobility infrastructure sector. Concluding the FICCI Business Delegation to Berlin, Germany, for InnoTrans 2026, the delegation strengthened partnerships and explored new opportunities for collaboration in the global rail and transport infrastructure sector.
