Luma makes it really easy to personalize your event with beautiful themes on luma.com/create. Choose from over 40 stunning themes to match your event’s personality and create an unforgettable experience for your guests.

Note that theme options change frequently as we add new themes and update existing ones. The best way to see all current options is to explore them directly at luma.com/create. Some themes may also be seasonally available and rotate throughout the year.

How Themes Work

Each theme includes:

Custom fonts from a curated collection of professional typefaces
Color schemes optimized for readability and visual appeal
Visual effects like animations, particles, or video backgrounds
Custom frames for cover images (on select themes)

Customization Options

The controls below your theme let you adjust its appearance. Available options depend on the theme:

Color: On Minimal and other supported themes, choose a preset color or click the last color circle to pick a custom color. That circle shows a rainbow or your selected custom color. Quantum uses preset gradient palettes.
Style: Choose patterns, emoji, or confetti shapes where available. This control is labeled Pattern, Emoji, or Confetti on those themes.
Font: Choose a font for your event title.
Display: Switch between Light and Dark on supported themes. If it shows a disabled Auto, the theme follows the viewer’s appearance setting.

Your chosen color provides a tint for the theme. Luma adjusts background and text colors for readability, so choosing black won’t give you a solid black background.

Your Theme Color in Emails

Your event’s theme color doesn’t stop at the event page — it carries through to every email we send for that event, so your invites, reminders, and blasts stay on brand.

In emails, the theme color is used for:

Links in the body of blasts and invites
Buttons, both the “View Event” button and any Button element you add to a blast
Accents throughout the email

As on the event page, we adjust the color you pick for contrast and accessibility, so the shade in the email may not be the exact hex you chose. Links in emails are colored rather than underlined, so if you want links in your blasts to stand out more, pick a theme color with more contrast against your text — a saturated color reads more clearly as a link than a black, white, or gray one.

Emails sent from a calendar rather than a single event — newsletters, membership emails, and event submission notifications — use the calendar’s color instead, which you set under your calendar’s design settings.

There’s no separate setting for link color. Changing the event’s theme color (or the calendar’s color, for calendar emails) is how you change it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the links in my emails the color they are? Links and buttons in event emails use your event’s theme color so everything stays branded. Calendar emails like newsletters use your calendar’s color. There’s no separate link color setting — change the color on the event or calendar and the emails follow.

Can I use my own background images? We don’t support custom background images. If this is important to you, reach out to us about the enterprise plan.

Why don’t I see themes on the iOS app? On iOS, we show a custom event page for iOS so that events are more consistent across the app. We don’t allow setting the theme or viewing them theme on iOS.
